"Where are you taking me? I have things to do today, I need to fix the schedule for Wednesday." I said to her as we walked out of my house.

Mia drag me out of my house while I was busy answering my emails a while ago. I was pretty busy these days to distract myself to the point that I honestly got to fix the schedules for the whole month. She just barged in, literally decided what I would wear but never said anything about where are we going. She just said that we need to go out before my birthday.

"Okay, can you just stop thinking about your job for this day? You're being a workaholic." Mia said, rolling her eyes.

I smiled, "Aww, are you jealous about my work? I miss you too, Mia." I said with a pout while holding her arm.

"You're just gone for 2 months, don't be dramatic," she said, removing my arm from hers. She looks annoyed, but I know she did miss me.

"I'll stop, but can you tell me where are we going?"

"No. My lips are sealed."

I rolled my eyes and said, "Gosh, why are both of you testing my patience every single time?"

She smirks, "It's Cate again, isn't it?"

"...No"

"I think we need to make some rules here." She said as we stopped at the corner of the street.

"For what? I don't like that idea."

She ignored me, "First, any mention of your job is prohibited. Every time you say it, you need to give me a dollar. "

"Why is there money--" She stopped me.

"Second, every time you talk about Cate takes $5 for each mention of her name."

My eyes widened, "Oh my god, why is it expen--"

"Lastly, I'm taking your phone," she said, trying to get my phone in my hand.

"Hey! You can take everything to me but not my phone!"

"You can live without a phone, y/n," She said when she successfully got it.

"You're so annoying. Your rules suck," I said, rolling my eyes.

"I know, let's go."

"I dressed up so nice today just to take me to your house? are you kidding me, Mia?" I said to her when we were near their house.

"It's frustrating, right? That's the whole point," she said with a big sarcastic smile.

I hit her arm because of that, "Very. Why are we even here?"

"Because she's going to surprise you, girl."

"Oh, your mother? It's way early for tomorrow"

Her eyes suddenly widened, "Yeah, Uhm...m-my mom. Advance celebration for your birthday."

I frown, "...But if it's a surprise, why tell me? You're so bad at this."

"Don't tell her I said that. Just act surprised."

Both her Mother and Asher surprised me in their backyard, and I was indeed surprised. I was expecting just a cake with a little decorations but they really did an effort. There's a table that's enough for us, and a long one with a bunch of foods. Still some balloons everywhere, also a bunch of beautiful lights which were perfect for the aesthetic.
