"For how much you've been in here, you might as well join the club." Fred suggested, pushing Ronnie's legs off of the table.

She looks at Fred with dead eyes and stands up.

"Hey, I put a lot of work into some of these templates with Nancy." Ronnie reminded him.

"He's right, you know." Nancy adds, raising her brow at Ronnie.

"Yeah, I don't really want to go around interviewing people and getting the scoop. That's more your wave, Nance." Ronnie answered the both of them.

"I'm gonna run home before the game, I'll see you guys later." Ronnie informs them, grabbing her backpack.

As she walked out the side doors, she recognizes Mike's voice call her name from behind, so she turns around, seeing him at the top of the steps.

"Will you join our campaign tonight? We're down a person." Mike pleads.

"And have to spend a few hours with you nerds and that weird friend of yours, Eddie Munson? Yeah, pass." Ronnie answers.

"You're a nerd too, you know. You know Dungeons and Dragons like the back of your hand." Mike adds.

"I'm already taking you guys home after, so no." She stands her ground.

When Mike rolls his eyes, storming back into the school, she continues to walk to her car.

She spends the time before the game to eat a snack, call back her parents and change into a pair of jeans, with a plain green t shirt, tucking it in, and throwing a cardigan over after spilling spaghetti sauce on herself.

The parking lot was close to full when she pulled in, walking into the gymnasium waving to Nancy and Fred who were near the doors, writing in their notepads. Scanning the bleachers, she spots Robin in the band, and winks at her when she notices that Vickie was standing next to Robin.

"Ronnie! Veronica!" She hears, looking up towards the right, Steve is waving her up to him.

He leans back, allowing her to walk past him to stand on his left, and smiles as her perfume passes him.

"How was work?" Ronnie asks, breaking the silence.

"Oh, you know. The usual, stocking movies, watching them. Oh and Dustin called me today, asking me to be in their campaign or something." Steve answered.

"Yeah, Mike asked me the same thing." Ronnie added.

"How was school?"

"Oh, you know. The usual, pretending to like people and doing my homework." She answers, mocking Steve.

He chuckles, Ronnie nudging his shoulder and smiles. They turn their attention towards the middle of the floor, a teacher announcing their special guest singing the national anthem was the one and only, Tammy Thompson.
