As Seek exited the library, Figure let out a sigh. The doors shut closed, a thump confirming that they were. Figure bent down to lean against the railing, almost tripping over it because he missed where his arms were supposed to rest. Silently cursing under his breath, the entity shook his head. Whenever he almost tripped, a fluttering feeling would overwhelm him. Similar to the term "butterflies." Figure felt the rail and groaned. He didn't ever mean to fall, it was just a fact of life."Figure?"
Figure turned to where the sound was coming from. It was actually directly below him. Stepping back, the entity stood waiting. The voice sounded small and high pitched, very quiet too. Nothing the Figure couldn't hear, though.
"Yes? Who goes there?" The entity spoke. He hoped he was facing to whoever was speaking.
"It's me, Timothy! I was just curious to what was going on with you. Uhm, Seek just ran out the door, so I used the opening to come see you. I'm actually climbing up to get on the rails as we speak!" The spider squeaked.
"Oh. How did you get over here so fast? The hall from the entrance to the railings is quite the distance for one so small as yourself, Timothy." Figure hadn't really talked with the spider all that much, but he knew him fairly decently and knew that the spider couldn't move too fast when not attacking. He surely couldn't traverse the hallway that quickly.
"Oh, you were probably spaced out for a while, sir! It was a bit of a walk for me, but you see, I don't think that it wasn't a reasonable time!" The spider responded.
"Oh." That's all that Figure responded with. Perhaps he maybe did get a bit lost in his own mind sometimes. He got bored quite easily, and there weren't that many braille books to keep his mind busy.
There were a few moments of silence. Figure was lost in his thoughts again, his mind wandering across topic after topic. Timothy remained quiet throughout this in acknowledgement that the higher up probably didn't mean to ignore him, his mother spider had taught him well.
Figure seemed to realize what he was doing, whispering a soft 'Oh.' under his breath.
"I apologize, Timmy. It seems I have a bit of trouble focusing sometimes. Did you come here for anything in particular?" Figure was slightly embarrassed by the fact he had completely ignored the arachnid, but played it off well. ..At least he hoped he did.
"I don't think I really did come here with a solid reason, but I guess I was wondering if you could show me where some of the science books are? I want to read about bugs. There's so many, you know?" If Timothy could smile, he would.
Figure laughed. The spider wasn't someone he knew all that well, unlike Seek, but his personality was quite adorable.
"Of course." He responded. Figure began to make his way towards the steps, making sure to slide his hand across the rail as he walked to keep balance.
"I heard Eyes comes to visit here a lot. What types of books do they read?" Timothy stared up at Figure as he walked, trying to keep up with the tall lumbering creature. The spider was curious about the mysterious entity. Eyes wasn't one to really show up to the gatherings or hangouts the entities hosted, only really for meetings Figure required everyone to be at every so often to discuss the state of the hotel.
"I'm not really sure, Eyes isn't very talkative, you see." Figure safely made his way to the nonfiction row without tripping, feeling along the spines of the books. Most of the books in the library had braille on them so the entity could identify the titles. Grabbing a book on bugs, he put a placeholder in the spot where he took it from.
