Seek was back in his hallway, messing around with the shapes of his black goop. Lifting his hand up, a rather large slimy hand rose from the floor. The entity flicked his wrist, and a small fire went out from the sheer force of the giant limb. Seek rested his face against his other hand. Not a lot had happened since a few days ago when the fire had taken place. Screech and their siblings had helped Jack with all they could, and Timothy was beginning to rebuild his hammock web in the garden on the other side. The statue was completely fine, so they didn't need to worry about the integrity of it. Seek has been finding himself visiting Figure more and more often, having even fallen asleep discussing things with his coworker the other night. It was only recently that the goop entity had returned to his own domain of the place.Grabbing a book that he had to his side, Seek turned it so the front faced him. He didn't take books often from the library, but this wasn't just any book, for Figure had given it to him. Intricate golden designs covered the spine and edges of the item. It was a leather bound book with an old feel to it, as if it had dated back many years. The pages were a shining golden yellow on the edge, but not so like one with age, but as if it was intended that way. The book was heavy and thick, but the most prominent feature was a keyhole directly in the middle of it. The keyhole ran through the item, but didn't seem to penetrate the backside of the pages. In fact, if one looked inside of it, all they would see is pitch black.
Seek turned the book the the side, then flipped it so the back faced him. There was no hole on the back of it. He guessed it was some sort of illusion, or something stranger.
-- Flashback.
"I want you to have this." Figure handed a book to Seek, along with a red satin pouch that was closed and tied.
"I don't understand? Are you okay?" Seek took the book and the pouch carefully, making sure that both were safe in his hands.
"Don't open the pouch until you're alone, Seek. This book is entrusted to the head of the entities, I received it when I came here. A voice told me so. I can't read it. I'm almost certain that inside that pouch is the key, it feels like it. It might have strange properties." Figure took a breath. "Something is off, Seek. I don't know what is going on, but last night, the rain started again. No one was in the hotel, though. Read the book alone." Figure reminded his coworker. Seek was confused for a moment, but then he remembered: it only rained when an intruder was on the premises. Figure and Seek guessed that it had something to do with the hotel, but they didn't know what.
"Tell me what it says, please." Figure grabbed Seek's hand in hope for some reassurance. Seek squeezed his friend's hand in response.

It had been hours since then. Seek blinked. The key didn't work no matter how hard he tried. Everything he did didn't work. The key fit just as it was supposed to, it was the only key that did, but it just wouldn't turn. He tried everything: making a copy of it with his goop, forcing it in the hole to turn it, everything. The entity felt hopeless. He'd have to go back to Figure and tell him it wouldn't work. As he got up to go to his friend, he internally facepalmed. What if he could just have Figure open it for him? If it was his book, then maybe it only worked for him. Deciding to test his theory out, he quickly headed over to the library.
Seek burst through the door of the library. Figure perked up.
"Hello?" The tall entity asked, getting up to hear who it was.
"Figure, it's me, Seek. I need your help." Seek made his way over to his friend, who he helped sit back down, placing the book and satin pouch onto the table. "The key doesn't unlock, no matter what I do. I was wondering if maybe you unlocked it, I might be able to read it?" He suggested, already opening up the pouch with the key in it, fumbling with his hands. Figure cocked his head and shrugged. Seek seemed in a rush, but Figure guessed he was probably just excited to try and test out his theory.
