"You're not going," Cato rips the hooded jacket from my grip.

I turn and look up at him with fire in my eyes. He equally gives me a look that could kill as he peers down at me.

We had created a plan. In just fifteen minutes, thousands of residents will be making their way to the mansion. That's our signal to leave. If one of us manages to enter the capital, we will be able to complete the mission and kill Snow.

The only issue is no one wanted to go, and Katniss would've been the only one to volunteer. So I guess that leaves me.

"I don't care what you think you can do," He tells me, "I don't care if you have thousands of people looking up to you right now. And I don't care if you think you have to live up to the girl on fire's legacy. You aren't going."

"So you stick up for me once and you automatically think that you can establish some sort of control over me?" I snap back at him. I grab the jacket from his hands again and send him a glare. "We aren't together, and even if we were, you can't tell me what to do."

"I care about you enough to tell you not to do this, it's stupid," He snaps at me. "You can't go, they'll pick you out in seconds."

"Who else is going to do it Cato?" I ask.

"Me," Finnick says, Cato turns back to look at him. His head whips back around to look at me a couple of seconds later. "You're staying."

"No," I tell him. "I'm not going to sit back like some coward just because some boys told me it's too dangerous."

"I'm just trying to look out for you," Cato tells me. "Please, let me. You don't have to be so stubborn and difficult Kat."

"Then come with me," I say. "We've done something far worse than this before and we've both survived."

"I want us both safe," He tells me. "Stay behind and let Finnick and someone else go. Risking your life just to kill Snow isn't worth it. Not like this."

"Cato," I say and grab his hand. He tightens his fingers around my palm and softens his look. "This isn't just about Snow, it's about Katniss, and hunting Rolland down too. I need to do this."

He sighs running a hand through his short blonde hair. He closes his eyes for a second or two before turning to face Finnick again.

"If she's going I'm going," He tells him. "I'm not letting her go out there alone."

"If you think she's easy to spot, the two of you will be ten times more likely to spot in a crowd," Finnick explains. Gale appears at his side, and nods in agreement. "You two were on television together fighting for your lives, you don't think people will recognize you even with a hood over your face?"

"I don't give a fuck if people recognize us, it's not about civilians Finnick-"

"If the civilians recognize you, the Peacekeeper's will too," Gale butts in. "You're judgement is going to be clogged because you're going to want to save her first."

"Gale-"

"Man, just listen," Gale interrupts him, "You want to see her after all this right?"

Cato nods first before he speaks, "Yeah."

"Then let one of us go for you."

"How am I supposed to trust that you'll watch out for her too?" Cato asks, "I'm the only the one that's been looking out for-"

"Correction, I am the one that's been looking after her when you were too excited that two girls were chasing after you at the same time," Finnick interrupts. "How old are you man? Fourteen?"
