indigo's pov
mom and i were sitting at the airport. i was on my phone texting my friends while she was staring out the window.
"i'm sorry you have to move half way across the world with me love." she spoke softly.
"i would do it in a heart beat mom. i just want you healthy." i spoke softly.
"you'll always be my angel." she smiled softly.
mom was diagnosed with heart failure a couple years ago. she insisted of letting luke, my mom's ex-husband or my father help us out. she thinks i believe it's because he's the top cardiologist in the USA, but i know it's because she wants us to meet in case she ends up dying.
we heard first class get called to board. we usually would sit in economy, but mom and i got bumped to first class after her condition was given.
we got on the plane and got settled in. it was going to be a long flight. i saw mom sit down and start a movie, while i laid down and decided to sleep the whole way. i put in music and slowly but surely everything began to fade.
i was woken up by mom gently telling me that we were landing. i got up and placed all of my objects back into the bag.
we soon landed and i quickly grabbed mom's stuff so she wouldn't have to carry it.
we got off the airplane and requested a wheelchair because mom was feeling extra weak. we went through customs and there i spotted a tall man with longer curly blonde hair.
"luke!" mom shouted happily.
"hey barbra!" he smiled as he walked over.
"thank you so much for doing this for us. this is indigo. your daughter." she smiled lightly.
"it's nice to meet you indigo." he spoke with a tiny smile.
"um, you too." i spoke awkwardly.
"my god, you really do look like me." he mumbled as he stared at me closely.
i quickly shied away. "so, where we going to now?" i asked.
"to the hospital. i have to run a few tests on your mom to make sure that nothing else is going on in her body." he spoke.
i nodded and we headed off to his car. we arrived at his car and quickly put everything away.
"just to warn you, i do live with 3 other mates. they are all a bit more chaotic." he spoke slowly.
"i'm sure they are nice!" mom smiled at luke.
then it fucking hit me. mom liked luke. she was almost acting head over heels with him.
"so, indigo, tell me about yourself?" luke spoke from the drivers seat.
"um sure, i'm a junior in high school, i love criminal minds, i want to actually be an emergency doctor when i'm older." i spoke softly.
"wow! being an ED doc is a good job." he smiled.
"what are the other three doctors like? what do they do?" mom asked.
"their names are calum, ashton, and michael. calum is a pediatrician, ashton is a psychologist, and michael is a orthopedic surgeon." he smiled.
"wow that's cool." i spoke shortly.
"you don't talk much do you?" luke asked.
"sorry, i'm just awkward around new people." i spoke slowly.
"no don't worry about it! my mate, calum is like that too." he smiled.
i nodded.
we soon arrived at the hospital and luke took mom and i up to his office.
"are you guys hungry or need anything to drink before we get started?" he asked.
"nope." mom smiled.
"oh my gosh is this baby hemmings?" i heard a voice speak from behind me.
