as i was walking away, i bumped into a man and fell backwards.

i let my back and butt hit the floor because i was holding midnight in my arms.

"are you okay? i'm so sorry." the man spoke as he bent down to help me up.

"i'm fine thank you." i replied shortly before beginning to walk away.

"you can't have a cat in here." the man spoke quickly catching up to me.

"no shit sherlock, that's why i'm going outside. thanks for your help. bye." i spit out as i continued marching away, leaving the man standing there stunned.

i finally made it out of the hospital and sat down on the bench outside.

"i would rather die then live with the man who left me as a child." i whispered to midnight as i held him close.

"you have your mother's personality." luke spoke from behind me.

"well yeah, i lived with her." i spoke softly.

"true, why do you hate me so much? you're so angry and i don't know what about. i can't fix it if you don't tell me." luke stressed as he sat next to me.

"that's none of your concern. just go help my mom. that's the whole reason we came here. i don't want a relationship with anyone else." i spoke as i scooted myself further from him.

"why though? has it always just been you and barbra?" luke asked.

i thought for a minute before answering.

"yeah, i don't really have to many friends. i do online school, so it makes it hard for me to meet new people. it's always been mom and i. i don't plan on changing that anytime soon." i spoke firmly.

"interesting. did you want to be online schooled?" luke asked.

"i didn't really care. i always had mom. now i feel like i'm losing her." i whispered as i felt tears enter my eyes.

"it's okay to cry you know." luke spoke softly as he scooted closer to me.

"i'm fine!" i yelled as i stood up suddenly. "just leave me alone." i muttered as i walked away.

luke's pov

my daughter hated me.

i left for work and because i fell out of love with barbra. however, i'd be lying if i said sparks didn't appear seeing her now.

i walked back inside to see barbra just to find her crying.

"what's wrong? what's hurting?" i asked quickly.

"nothing, i-i just feel so helpless with indigo. i don't want to hurt her, but i know i'm hurting her and she's become so fucking closed up again. she's always been a quite kid, but she was always open with me. i don't know about now though." barbra sighed.

"it's a transition for her. she is in a whole new country and knows absolutely no one. it probably doesn't help that her dad, who she thinks left her, is her mom's doctor." i spoke softly.

"you did leave her luke. you left us, which is fine, but it hurt her more than it did me." barbra spoke firmly.

i nodded softly.

"hey mate, i have the weirdest story to tell you." my roommate calum spoke as he walked in.

"oh hey barbra!" calum smiled softly.

"hey cal." she smiled back.

"what's the story?" i asked.

"there was this teenage girl. i fucking full on ran into her and she flew back. she had a kitten in her hands i told her she couldn't have the kitten in here and she said and i quote, "no shit sherlock thats why i'm going outside." and i'm like what the hell, she's rude." calum finished with a red face.

"was the cat black?" barbra asked slowly.

"yeah, how did you know?" calum spoke quickly.

"cal, that's my daughter indigo." barbra laughed softly.

"damn, i knew i recognized that type of feisty behavior somewhere." calum spoke with a tiny chuckle.

"speaking of indigo, where the hell is she?" barbra asked.

"i don't actually know, she walked off a while ago." i spoke quickly.

"luke hemmings, you let our daughter walk off in a country she doesn't know. you better go find her." barbra spoke firmly as she laid back.

"yes ma'am." i laughed as i left the room.

"your eyes were hearts mate." calum chuckled as he pushed me.

"fuck you." i spoke with an eye roll.

time to go find my daughter.
