Jennie stormed out of the classroom, gripping her phone tightly. Her heart pounded as she processed the text Jisoo had just sent her."I'm moving to the U.S. tomorrow."
Tomorrow. She had found out just a day before. But Jisoo had known for three months and never told her.
When she finally spotted Jisoo near the school gates, her anger flared.
"How could you?!" Jennie shouted, marching straight up to her.
Jisoo sighed, rubbing her temple. "Jennie, let me explain—"
"Explain what?! That you kept this from me for months? That you're just leaving like it's nothing?" Jennie's voice cracked, her emotions bubbling over.
"I didn't know how to tell you," Jisoo admitted. "I didn't want to hurt you."
"And this didn't hurt?" Jennie scoffed. "You promised we'd always be together, Jisoo."
Jisoo looked away, guilty. "I'll stay in contact. I swear. We'll call, text—"
"It's not the same," Jennie whispered.
Jisoo hesitated before pulling her into a tight hug. "I'll never forget you, Jenduekie."
Jennie wanted to push her away, but she clung on anyway.

Months passed.
Jisoo was now living in Los Angeles, and despite her promises, their messages dwindled. Jennie still followed her on social media, but their conversations turned into occasional heart reacts and simple check-ins.
One day, while scrolling through Instagram, Jennie froze.
Jisoo had posted a picture with a girl—someone unfamiliar, standing too close to her.
Her heart clenched. She's moved on.
She zoomed into the picture, examining the details. The girl had short, platinum blonde hair and a bright smile. They looked comfortable, too comfortable.
Jennie threw her phone onto her bed and groaned. Why did it bother her so much? She had no right to be upset, yet the sight of Jisoo smiling with someone else gnawed at her.
She spent the next few days obsessing over the photo, clicking through Jisoo's tagged pictures and comments. Eventually, she gave up. It wasn't like she could demand an explanation.

A year later, Jennie found herself landing in Los Angeles. Her father had business with an old friend—Jisoo's dad.
"Jisoo's going to be so happy to see you," her father said as they drove through the city.
Jennie forced a smile. "Yeah... surprise."
But the real surprise was waiting for her.
When she stepped into Jisoo's house, she was met with a sight that nearly knocked the breath out of her.
Jisoo was laughing—with Lisa
Lisa. Her ex-girlfriend.
Jennie felt her stomach twist. How were they even close? She had never mentioned Lisa before.
Before she could react, Lisa spotted her. "Jennie?"
Jisoo turned around, her expression shocked. "Nini?"
"What is this?" Jennie asked, forcing a smile, but her tone betrayed her.
Jisoo blinked. "Lisa's my cousin. She's been studying in the UK."
Lisa chuckled. "Did you think Jisoo and I were...?"
Jennie clenched her fists. "You posted a picture."
Jisoo laughed, finally understanding. "Oh my God, Jennie, Lisa is dating Rosé."
Jennie's jaw dropped. "What?!"
Lisa smirked. "Wow, still jealous over me?"
Jennie rolled her eyes. "Shut up."
Jisoo grinned. "You really flew all the way here because of me?"
Jennie crossed her arms. "Don't flatter yourself."
Lisa nudged Jisoo. "She totally did."
Jennie shot her a glare. "I didn't."
Jisoo softened. "I missed you."
Jennie looked at her, her heart pounding. "I missed you too."
Later that night, Jennie finally gathered the courage to tell Jisoo the truth. They were sitting on Jisoo's balcony, looking at the LA skyline. Jennie took a deep breath, her voice shaking.
"Jisoo... I have something to tell you."
Jisoo turned to her, concerned. "What's wrong?"
Jennie bit her lip before the words tumbled out. "I'm moving here. To LA."
Jisoo's eyes widened. "Wait, what? For real?!"
Jennie nodded, tears brimming in her eyes. "I was gonna surprise you, but I couldn't hold it in anymore. I missed you so much, Jisoo. It hurt every day being away from you."
Jisoo gasped before launching herself at Jennie, wrapping her in the tightest hug. "Oh my God! Jennie, this is the best news ever!"
Jennie sniffled against her shoulder. "Really?"
Jisoo pulled back, cupping Jennie's face with both hands. "Of course! Do you know how much I missed you? I thought about you every single day."
Jennie wiped her tears, smiling shyly. "Yeah?"
Jisoo nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah."
And before Jennie could react, Jisoo pressed a quick kiss to her lips.
Jennie's eyes widened in shock. "Jisoo?!"
Jisoo immediately turned bright red. "Oh my God, I—I didn't mean to—"
Jennie blinked, touching her lips. Then, she chuckled. "Jisoo, you have the biggest crush on me, don't you?"
Jisoo groaned, hiding her face in her hands. "I hate you."
Jennie laughed, pulling her hands away. "No, you don't."
Jisoo huffed, looking away. "Maybe."
Jennie grinned. "It's okay. I kinda like it."
Jisoo peeked at her, eyes hopeful. "Yeah?"
Jennie shrugged. "Yeah."
Lisa's voice suddenly interrupted them from inside the house. "I KNEW IT!"
Both of them groaned, but as they sat there under the LA night sky, hands intertwined, everything felt just right.
And they were exactly where they belonged—together.
