Jennie wasn't sure what was worse—the fact that someone wanted her dead, or the fact that she was now stuck with Jisoo.

She hated that Jisoo had this infuriating ability to take control of any situation, including her.

And now, as they stepped out of the penthouse and into a sleek black car, Jennie could feel the weight of what was coming.

Jisoo slid into the driver's seat, effortlessly cool, her fingers tapping against the wheel as she started the car.

"Where are we going?" Jennie asked, pulling her seatbelt on.

Jisoo smirked. "To visit an old friend."

Jennie frowned. "And this 'friend' knows who wants me dead?"

Jisoo glanced at her, amusement flickering in her dark eyes. "She might."

Jennie didn't like the way Jisoo said that.

It meant trouble.

And yet—she was starting to learn that Jisoo thrived in trouble.

The car sped through the city, cutting through traffic with a precision Jennie would never admit was impressive.

She hated to admit it, but Jisoo looked like she belonged in this world.

The power. The danger. The control.

Jennie's fingers curled into her lap.

She had spent so long chasing after this story, chasing after Jisoo.

Now, she wasn't sure which one was more dangerous.

They arrived at a high-end underground club, hidden beneath a five-star restaurant.

Jennie followed Jisoo inside, her heart pounding.

The air was thick with cigarette smoke and hushed conversations, the scent of expensive liquor lingering in the dimly lit space.

Jisoo walked in like she owned the place—maybe she did.

All eyes turned toward her.

Jennie swallowed. She wasn't used to this.

She was used to controlling the narrative, asking the questions.

But here—she was in Jisoo's world.

Jisoo led her to a private lounge in the back, where a woman sat waiting.

Tall. Elegant. Dressed in red.

She looked up, smirking when she saw Jisoo. "Didn't think I'd see you again, Miss Kim."

Jisoo chuckled, sliding into the seat across from her.

"You owe me a favor, Boa."

Jennie stiffened.

Boa?

The Boa Kwon?

The infamous information broker who knew everyone's secrets?

Jennie had tried to interview her once—it hadn't ended well.

Boa's gaze flickered to Jennie, a knowing smirk tugging at her lips. "And you brought a guest?"

Jisoo hummed. "She's why we're here."

Boa leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. "Oh? The little reporter finally bit off more than she could chew?"

Jennie scowled. "I can handle myself."

Boa laughed, looking back at Jisoo. "She's cute."

Jennie bristled. "I'm not—"

Jisoo placed a hand on Jennie's thigh under the table.
