Jisoo met up with Lisa for breakfast at their usual café. It was a quiet morning, the kind Jisoo liked-just coffee, a comfortable atmosphere, and a little bit of peace. Lisa, however, wasn't planning on letting her enjoy that peace for long.
"So... how long are you gonna keep waiting?" Lisa asked casually as she stirred her iced latte with her straw.
Jisoo blinked. "Waiting for what?"
Lisa shot her a look. "Don't play dumb. You know what I mean. How long are you gonna wait before you tell Jennie that you love her?"
Jisoo fell silent, her fingers tracing the rim of her coffee cup as she gazed outside. The question wasn't new. It had been sitting at the back of her mind for a while now. She knew she loved Jennie-had known for a long time-but saying it out loud? That was a whole different thing.
Lisa sighed. "Jisoo. Come on. You're literally one of the richest people in Korea, your parents are super chill and don't care who you date, you haven't been in a relationship in *years*-so what exactly is stopping you?"
Jisoo was quiet for a long moment, then exhaled. "I don't know," she admitted. "Maybe I'm just... scared?"
"Scared of what?" Lisa pressed, genuinely curious.
Jisoo stirred her coffee absentmindedly before finally speaking. "Jennie makes me feel something I've never felt before. When she's around, my heart feels lighter. Like... like I can breathe properly, you know? Life's not so overwhelming. She makes me feel safe in a way I didn't even realize I needed. Like, I could have the worst day, and the moment I see her, it's like-poof-nothing else matters. All my problems feel smaller. It's crazy."
Lisa's lips twitched into a small smile. "Damn, you've got it bad."
Jisoo let out a soft chuckle. "I do. I really do. I used to think love was this big, complicated thing that required so much effort, but with Jennie... it's just easy. She fits into my life so perfectly, like she was always meant to be there."
Lisa took a sip of her drink and raised a brow. "So why haven't you asked her out yet?"
Jisoo glanced at her before looking down at her cup, a small smile playing on her lips. "Because I don't want to just date her."
Lisa almost choked. "Wait-what?"
Jisoo leaned back in her chair, exhaling as if she had just dropped a weight off her shoulders. "I want to marry her."
Lisa did choke that time. She coughed, thumping her chest as she gaped at Jisoo. "WHAT?! Are you serious?"
Jisoo grinned. "Dead serious."
Lisa stared at her like she'd grown a second head. "Jisoo, you haven't even dated her yet, and you're already thinking about marriage?"
Jisoo shrugged. "Yeah. Because I know she's it for me. I don't want anyone else. I don't even want to imagine a life where she's not with me. Call me possessive, call me obsessive-I don't care. The thought of someone else taking her away from me? It physically hurts. If I'm gonna be with her, I want it to be forever."
Lisa was still recovering from the shock, trying to process everything. "Holy shit. You're really gone for her, huh?"
Jisoo let out a soft laugh. "Yeah. I really, really love her, Lisa."
Just then, Jisoo's phone rang. She glanced at the screen, and her smile softened. Lisa leaned over, catching a glimpse of the contact name: My Mandu.
Lisa smirked. "Aww. That's so disgustingly cute."
Jisoo ignored her and answered the call. "Hello?"
"Where are you?" Jennie's voice came through the line, slightly groggy from sleep but already laced with annoyance. "I woke up, and you weren't next to me. You're not in the kitchen, not in the living room, not anywhere."
