Jisoo didn't come back that night.
Or the next.
Or the one after that.
Jennie had never known silence could be this loud—that a cold bed and unanswered calls could make her chest feel like it was caving in.
She tried everything.
She went to Jisoo's office—she wasn't there.
She called Jae Hyun—Jae Hyun refused to tell her anything.
She even drove around the city at 2 AM, searching for any sign of her.
But Jisoo was gone.
And it was driving Jennie insane.
—
Day four.
Jennie sat outside Jisoo's office, waiting.
She knew Jisoo would have to show up eventually. She had an empire to run—she couldn't disappear forever.
So when Jisoo's sleek black car finally pulled up to the building, Jennie's heart nearly jumped out of her chest.
The moment Jisoo stepped out, Jennie ran toward her. "Jisoo—"
Jisoo didn't even look at her.
She brushed past Jennie like she was nothing more than a stranger on the street.
Jennie's breath hitched.
No.
She wasn't going to let it end like this.
She grabbed Jisoo's wrist. "Please, just listen—"
Jisoo yanked her arm away like Jennie's touch burned.
Her eyes—those same eyes that once held warmth and teasing glances—were now empty.
Jennie felt her stomach drop.
Jisoo was shutting her out.
Completely.
"Go home, Jennie."
Jennie's chest tightened. "Not until you talk to me."
Jisoo let out a bitter laugh. "Talk? You want to talk?" She took a step closer, eyes locked onto Jennie's. "You had months to talk, Jennie. Months to tell me the truth. And yet, you waited until I found out on my own."
Jennie swallowed. "I was going to tell you—"
"Were you?" Jisoo cut in, her tone sharp. "Or were you waiting until you had enough dirt on me to bury me completely?"
Jennie flinched.
Jisoo exhaled, looking away. "I don't care anymore."
Jennie's breath hitched. "That's a lie."
Jisoo's jaw tightened.
Jennie stepped forward, voice quieter. "If you didn't care, you wouldn't have disappeared. You wouldn't be running from me."
Jisoo's fists clenched at her sides.
Jennie took another step. "If you didn't care... it wouldn't hurt this much."
Jisoo's breath was unsteady now.
Jennie could see it.
She was getting to her.
But just as fast, Jisoo shut down again.
She took a step back, shaking her head. "I don't care."
And then—she walked away.
