This one is cliché. But who cares. Lol

"Chu, Please"
"Jen... Isn't it too much?"
"No, you are the best one, pleaseee."
"Jen, you know this is a severe matter, right?"
"I do; that's why I asked you!"
Jisoo sighed; she knew she couldn't say no to her best friend; she had never said no to her.
"Chu?"
"Jennie, does it necessary to do it? I mean, you could ask your crush over there," Rosè came and took a seat beside Jisoo.
"Crush? you have a crush on who?" Jisoo turned her head toward the direction pointed by Rosè.
"Jongin?" Jisoo frowned but wiped it off,Jennie, on the other hand, smacked Rosè's head, earning an 'ow.' from the latter.
"Since when?" Jisoo asked eyes fixed still on the man.
"A month already, right, Unnie?" Lisa suddenly showed up from nowhere.
Jisoo stayed silent, and nodded, hearing the youngest words. She feels sad, of course. When your best friend hides a secret from you, but everyone else knows about it, how can you not think the feeling of you know what? But to be accurate, her heart shattered the moment she knew that her best friend, aka her long last crush, was liking someone else who was not her.
"Chu... It's not a big deal. It's just a crush, not that he's my boyfriend or what."
"Wh-"
"Jennie Kim?" Speaking of the devil, here he comes, Kim Jongin, known as Kai.
Jennie looked up and nodded with a blush on her cheeks.
"So... I heard you have a thing on me?"
Jennie's eyes widened; she had never told anyone besides Lisa and Rosè. She glared at both of them and looked at Jisoo, who was focusing on her phone.
"I have a thing for you too... Are you free this Saturday?"
Jennie was about to answer, but she remembered that Saturday was her and Jisoo's day.
"I'm sorry, but I have something to do with-"
Jennie turned her head towards where Jisoo sat earlier, but the latter was gone.
"So... what about Friday night?"
//////
"Hey Jennie, this is Kai; Nayeon gave me your number; I forgot to ask you earlier; I hope you won't mind ;)."
Jennie frowned at the message, not that she didn't like it. She didn't know what to feel. She indeed has a crush on Kai, but at the same time, she doesn't know what she thinks about the guy. Certainly, he's good-looking, strong, charming, and whatever that classification of a crush.
Jennie stared at the message on her phone, her thumbs hovering over the keyboard.
She sighed. Maybe she was overthinking. Kai was a nice guy, and he liked her. Wasn't that how crushes were supposed to work? You like someone, they like you back, and you go out. Simple.
Then why did it feel complicated?
"Jen, you okay?" Rosé nudged her from the side.
Jennie looked up from her phone and forced a smile. "Yeah, just... processing."
Lisa peeked over her shoulder. "Ooooh, he's fast. You haven't even said yes to a date, and he's already texting you."
Rosé smirked. "Well, at least now we know why Jisoo suddenly left."
Jennie's heart sank. "What do you mean?"
Lisa and Rosé exchanged a glance before Rosé hesitated. "Jen... You really don't know?"
Lisa sighed. "Unnie likes you."
Jennie blinked. "What?"
"Jisoo. She likes you, Jen. Like, *likes* likes you."
Jennie scoffed, shaking her head. "No way. That's ridiculous. We're best friends."
Rosé leaned in. "Exactly. And you know her. She's never said no to you, never left your side—until today. And she only left because she couldn't watch you say yes to someone else."
Jennie's chest tightened. That was ridiculous. Jisoo never acted like she liked her. She never said anything. If she did, Jennie would have known... right?
"She doesn't like me like that," Jennie mumbled, but it sounded weak even to her own ears.
Lisa raised an eyebrow. "Then why did she leave when Kai asked you out?"
Jennie had no answer to that.
////
Jisoo sat alone at the rooftop of their dorm building, staring at the city lights below. The cold breeze brushed against her face, but it wasn't enough to distract her from the ache in her chest.
Of course, Jennie liked Kai. He was everything she wasn't. And of course, Jennie never noticed her feelings. Jisoo had buried them too deep, afraid of ruining their friendship.
But now... was it even a friendship anymore? Jennie had hidden her crush from her, and Jisoo had run away instead of being there for her best friend. Maybe things had already changed without her realizing.
"Jisoo?"
She stiffened. She knew that voice anywhere.
Turning around, she saw Jennie standing hesitantly near the door, arms crossed over her chest.
"Hey." Jisoo forced a smile. "What's up?"
Jennie walked closer, her face unreadable. "You left."
Jisoo shrugged. "I had something to do."
"Liar." Jennie sighed, sitting beside her. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Jisoo frowned. "Tell you what?"
"That you liked me."
Jisoo's breath caught in her throat. "What—"
"Lisa and Rosé told me." Jennie looked at her, eyes searching. "Is it true?"
Jisoo swallowed hard. She could deny it, make a joke, brush it off. But she was tired of pretending.
"Yes."
Silence stretched between them. Jisoo braced herself for the rejection, for the awkwardness that would follow.
But instead, Jennie sighed. "Why didn't you ever say anything?"
Jisoo chuckled dryly. "Because I knew this would happen. You don't feel the same way."
Jennie bit her lip, looking down. "I don't know what I feel."
Jisoo turned to her, surprised. "What?"
Jennie let out a deep breath. "I like Kai. At least, I thought I did. But when he asked me out... all I could think about was you. How Saturdays are *our* days. How you always know what I need before I even ask. How it hurts to see you sad. And how much it scared me when you walked away today."
Jisoo's heart pounded. "Jennie..."
"I'm in denial, aren't I?" Jennie laughed softly, shaking her head. "I don't know when it started, but I think... I think I like you too."
Jisoo stared at her, barely breathing. "You don't have to say that just because you feel bad."
Jennie rolled her eyes. "I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it, dummy."
Jisoo exhaled, a small smile forming on her lips. "So... what now?"
Jennie intertwined their fingers, squeezing gently. "I don't know. But let's figure it out together."
Jisoo's smile widened, warmth replacing the ache in her heart. "Okay."
And for the first time in a long time, everything felt right.
