Inkblot Sins

A bird flew by my window
And sang of my sins

He chirped to the rhythm of my wailing

His wings fluttered with freedom as he whispered his goodbyes

I've moved on;
And to him my heart shall lie

For he has laid out his heart
And a dagger too

So I can commit some crimes and maybe woo
Some sailors with my scars

A heart felt by the devil both him and I,
Have fallen in love with no mankind

As humanity faded from both our eyes
We were adulterers of too many lazy lies

Our memories chased unborn history
One thing that has seemed to no longer be a mystery

The muddy innocence in our children
Devoured the unhealthiness of our sadistic nature

With a bruise to match our moods

We fought one on one
And counted the inkblots
Disguised as our mothers on each of our skins

We were sinners

And he was my sin.
