Queens of Disasters

My worst nightmares
Have become my greatest and biggest dreams

My fears have become
My friends

My tears have become
Pools of laughter

The people I hide from
Are the people I appear to

The mortals on my mind
Are the drawings that form with lines

Drawings of what people wish to see instead of who they are

Drawings that bring out the judgment and regret in their eyes

They befriended monsters and thieves

Instead of ghosts and angels
Ghosts of their childhood
And angels of their disappearance

Their flaws and embarrassments
Always gasp for air
Trying to be spread out
For the cruelty of the world

They were queens of disasters
And kings of crimes

They were princes of faults
And princesses of guilt

They took pride of war and glory
Instead of peace and harmony

They believed the oral stories told from tribes of dragons and flowers

From tribes of discipline and aid
From tribes of imperfections and animality

To new generations
Generations so arrogant and unwilling

Generations that run from their youth
To meet a man they have yet to be

Generations that kiss torn cheeks
And encourage bones

They run through forests of stumps

They dance in fields of cotton and lilies

With acid rain tearing the petals of their hearts

Petals so red and blue
Petals found on stars and planets

The people occupying these planets
Creating the acid rain that cracks these lands open
For people to drown in misery
And flout in gloom

For people to hide in shrivelled flowers
And push the walls open for it to blossom and bloom

Their youth has been ageing swiftly

Their lungs have turned into ashes
And their souls have been purified

Their drinks have been holy
And their food has been thanked for

But their skin grows thinner
And their eyes grow darker

Their teeth turn to swords
And their fingernails all worn

With their hands all shaky
And their water all spilled

Their blood travels through pipes
And graves

Their blood runs with soldiers
And their blood rules with emperors

And their words so numb and wise

And their stories so forgotten and dishonest

They burn holes for those who wish to seek treasures and mysteries

They cause the world to rumble and fight

They cause the lightning to dance with winds
And thunder to beat

They turn our lives to black and white
And turn our wives upside right

They blind the heroes that save our cities
And claim their ownership over the cancer that spreads through our world so fast and free

Waiting to feed on all the warriors and missionaries
That lump their way across the cracks
And anchor their disappointment.
