(this chapter is not apart of this book but its a informational chapter!) also that is my dog ^ her name is Shiro! (means white in Japanese! and her breed is a Japanese spitz!)
in this chapter is telling and sharing information about all the stuff in this book starting with autism!
autism is also a very common neurological problem! autism is a spectrum disorder that can effect, speech, social behavior, emotions and many more. kids with autism can often be identified at around age 5. this is because this is the time kids start showing their personalities and when they start school (prep).
there's not just one autism but there's subtypes. there are no names for them but for example a person can have autism and it challenges them in speech and social stuff but another person can have autism and it challenges their sensory and their emotions.
autism as i said before is a spectrum disorder so this means that a person can have it worse then others, for example a person can have autism but still will be able to have a job and do things by themselves they might have hiccups a long the way and they might find things more challenging then others but they can still go on and live 'normally'. this is call high functioning autism
but some people can have it worse, if this is the case the person would have to have lot of support through out their whole life. a person with low functioning autism would have the more severe symptoms and cannot live like a person without autism.
now there's no name for the middle range of the autistic spectrum but they call it level 2 autism. if a person had this they would need help with a lot of stuff in times but are able to do other things like a person with high functioning autism or level 1 autism.
a thing that plays a long with autism is sensory problems and anxiety (there is more but this is the most common seen ones) all kids with autism have strengths and challenges that's why a lot of people with autism can do things at an extreme level but also can do extremely bad in another things.
autism effects 1 - 44 kids and it effects more girls then boys :D
did you know albert Einstein had multiple different neurological problems one being this and you will see his name commonly come up in lists of famous people with neurological problems. he did incredible things with multiple different stuff keeping him from it but he still discovered amazing things!
now onto age regression!
and now epilepsy!
Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes recurring, unprovoked seizures. Your doctor may diagnose you with epilepsy if you have two unprovoked seizures or one unprovoked seizure with a high risk of more. Not all seizures are the result of epilepsy. Seizures may relate to a brain injury or a family trait, but often the cause is completely unknown.
The word "epilepsy" simply means the same thing as "seizure disorders." It does not state anything about the cause of the person's seizures or their severity.
Seizures are sudden surges of abnormal and excessive electrical activity in your brain and can affect how you appear or act. Where and how the seizure presents itself can have profound effects.
i hope these can help you understand your character and whats happening!
