Rishma's  POV :

After bath, I changed my dress to a white kurti. Braided my hair and went to the kitchen.

I climbed on the kitchen slab like a lady Tarzan and opened the drawer and took the tin.

Tin containing coffee powder is not very heavy like before. I opened its lid and looked.

Then looked at the ceiling and let out a long sigh.

"This British guy..."

He did not leave even a pinch of coffee powder.
I think Chris ate a lot of coffee powder when I went home.

Placed the tin back into the drawer. As I stepped down from the slab, I heard a notification on my phone.

I took the phone and looked at the screen.
It was from the Music app.
It was a song suggestion notification.
My favorite song Vijanathayil.

Seeing it reminded me of my old childhood.

When I was studying in 5th standard, all the hit Hindi series used to be dubbed in Malayalam.

I watced almost every series without missing any episodes.

It starts at 4:30 in the evening and songs from new movies will be aired just before the start of the series.

One of them is this song sung by Shreya Ghosal. From Lady Superstar Manju Warrier's come back movie How Old Are You?

Thinking of those moments brought a smile to my face.

Vijanathayil was the song I sang many times during that age.

I played the song. In the beginning, the music itself gave a positive energy.

I pulled the chair closer where I kept all the dry clothes and folded them one by one while  listening to song.

But somehow I didn't sing that song this time. I kept hearing it. I struck myself and listened to the lyrics of the song.

Odi marayum kaalamengo
Orthunilkkaathangu doore
Engo poyathengo
En kinavin venpirakkal
Enthe maanjathenthe
Manchirathil poothanaalam

The era runs and disappears somewhere
Without pausing for thoughts, at a distance.
Where, where did they go,
The doves of my dreams.
Why did it fade,
The flame which blossomed in the mud lamp 》

The moment when the lyrics matches your situation, the lyrics hit differently.

I changed my position and sat on the bed.

Cling !

Here comes another notification distracting my mind. Not letting me to feel sad for a minute.

I took my phone and looked at screen.

What? How this happened?

She never do this.

I wondered !

I immediately dialed my Amma's number. Without much delay she answered my call.

"Amma, innu bankil poyo? Ente accountilekkcash ayacho?"

(Mom, you went to the bank today? Did you send money to my account?)

"Ah athe."

(Ah yes)

" Enikkenthina ithreyum valiya thuka? Appo ningalkk chechide fees adakkende?"

(Why did you send me such a huge amount? You  don't wanna pay my sister's fees?)
