she were finally home.

well... almost.

while she was in her hometown, she wasn't quite at her childhood, where she was on the way to currently. the rest of the boys checked into their hotel room's and did their own thing, while amber made a solo trip to visit her dad, sister and of course, her dog.

it felt weird being back in the place where it all started. where they'd have afternoon band practices in her garage, sitting around the dinner table with her family when it creeped to night, spending the darkness together dreaming about the possibilities of tomorrow, which they soon unknowingly fulfilled

as she stepped out of the car and onto the pavement, she examined the place she called home, soon walking up the steps and knocking on the large white door.

it only took a few seconds before the front door swung open and before she could even process who was in-front of her, she were squeezed unbelievably tight... but she knew who it was.

"grace!" amber laughed, "you're squishing me to death."
"I can't help that i missed my big sister so much." she mumbled into her body, before eventually pulling away.

amber smiled softly to grace, she already looked older and it'd only been a few weeks... maybe she was just being delusional.

"how have you been?" amber asked.
"swamped in school work." she frowned, "but how are the greta boys! is it true you're dating josh? or are you with the guitarist, jake... i can't tell there's so many news articles."
amber sighed, "oh boy, we have lots to catch up on, don't we?"

amber wrapped an arm over her sisters shoulder, the both of them walking inside. amber found the kitchen and living room unusually empty, she thought she'd see her dad here.

"where's dad?" she asked, looking to grace, but she simply shrugged, and walked away with a funny look on her face, seemingly hiding something.
"what are you not telling me, gracey?" amber questioned, following her sister to the backward, where she soon found her jaw dropping in surprise.

"dad..." amber's bottom lip dropped as she examined what were in front of her — a large flower shrine, riddled with fairy lights, leading to a picnic table full of food and what seemingly be a photo book on the table, with her dad standing there sweetly with his arms open.

"hello my little dove." he said, his arms wide as she approached him.

they hugged tightly, and amber smiled as she looked around her, "this is amazing, dad... thank you, and i assume you had something to do with this too, thank you as well grace."

"how are you?" her dad asked, his hands on her shoulders.
"i'm good now." she said, smiling up to him, thankful to finally be back home.

they all sat around the table, grabbing pieces of food and pouring drinks, until amber stumbled upon a large notebook, the front reading 'amberlynn's musical journey'.

her dad noticed that she had found the book, and encouraged her to flick through.

"wow..." amber trailed off, chuckling, "the start of it all."
"it felt fitting to make something like this considering how your music is going right now, and it was beautiful to see how you all have progress over the years." her dad said.

the first page showed amber as a toddler, holding a guitar, her hair all frazzled.

"but before you go any further, it only felt right that you go through these memories with the people you shared them with." her dad said, and that's when amber felt two hands on her shoulders, and she turned around to see both nick and taylor looking to her with giddy smiles.
