A broken promise - SISIR AND BASANTA

Chapter 7

After half an hour, the party started. Sisir went to welcome the guests while Basanta was surrounded by guests who wished him a happy birthday and showered him with presents. Klaus was busy talking to the neighboring kingdom's kings. Everything was going well. All the guests had arrived according to the list. So, Sisir went near his brother talking with the kids his (Basanta) age. But he stopped midway when he saw something. Something that caught his eye. Something that attracted him. And do you know who is that something?

A girl. She looked as she was of Sisir's age or a year or two older. She was wearing a fancy white sparkly gown in which she looked like a fallen angel. Her hair was in the color of black and brown and very long. Sisir find her hairstyle very cute. She had a smile on her face but Sisir could tell that something was hidden in that smile. She looked a little scared. At that moment, when Sisir saw her he felt the need to protect the stranger at any cost. He also noticed a woman all dressed in black standing near the girl whispering something in her ear. After that the woman went away. The girl looked here and there and her eyes met with Sisir. They both were making an eye contact which didn't last very long as the girl held her face to the opposite direction and went away.

Sisir was just looking at her disappearing figure in the crowd. He wasn't moving his body. It looked like someone casted a spell on him and he became a statue. Suddenly, Basanta came there and tapped Sisir's arm. Sisir flinched at the sudden touch. He took his hand on his chest and said, " wooh.. who was she? How come I have never seen her before. She looks beautiful and gorgeous." Basanta frowned at his brother's statement and made a fake hurt expression on his face as he just got ignored by his brother. Basanta again tapped his arm, but this time a little harshly which was enough to make Sisir come back to his senses. He looked at Basanta and said, "what happened?" Basanta replied, "what do you mean by what happened. I am calling and shaking you for like 5 minutes but you were zoning out, blabbering something and most important thing ignoring me. So your highness mind telling me that what had happened to you?" He said with his arms crossed over his chest and gave Sisir a look which says "you better spill the tea or prepare your grave bro". sisr gulped cause Basanta looked scary and said, "Fine. I just saw a girl few minutes ago. We made an eye contact. That moment was magical. But, she quickly ran away. And now I couldn't find her anywhere." Sisir said pouting a little. His brother understood what he meant. Sisir had developed a crush on the girl on first sight. He smiles while looking at his elder brother who looked like a puppy in his point of view. Basanta thought, "Dai, maya ko zallo ma fasecha"

Translation: "bro has fallen in the trap of love."

Basanta suddenly said to Sisir, "then go and find her. She may still be here. I also want to meet my future sister in law." Basanta said the last sentence with a teasing smile while wiggling his eyebrows. Sisir's cheeks turned red while hearing his brother. He suddenly whisper yelled, "shut up. I don't even know her name yet. Don't jump to conclusions bro. now, I am going to find her. You go near dad and talk to him or go play with your friends. Okay?" before Basanta could reply Sisir left from there. Basanta laughed at his silly brother's act and decided that he will stick to his father because he was bored as fork from this party already. He started to look for Klaus. He saw Klaus in a distance talking to someone but he couldn't figure who was that. So he went closer and saw that his father was talking to a woman in a black dress. She had a mischievous smile in her face which scared Basanta a little. She looked like the evil nun which basnata read in the books. He saw that his father was drinking a liquid which was purple in color. But he didn't payed much attention to it. And he was smiling looking at the woman and the woman's hand was on Klaus's shoulders. They looked like a couple which disturbed and annoyed Basanta because he was still not completely over his mother's death. He wanted to puke. Yeah, it is true that he wants to find someone who will take care of his father but not this soon. It's still early.

Basanta went near him and greeted his father as well that woman. He smiled at both of them which was fake obviously. Then Klaus said, "oh, I forget to introduce you two to each other. Maiden this is my younger son, Basanta and Basanta this is maiden, a well-known merchant from the neighboring countries. Maiden and Basanta looked at each other. Maiden smiled at him and said, "hello little one. And wish you a very good birthday sweetheart." Although her words were sweet. Basanta was sensing venom in it. Basanata replied, "oh thank you miss maiden. Now I take my leave." After saying that he quickly left from there. Basanta decided to tell this to Sisir but Sisir was nowhere to be found. Sisir was still searching for that mysterious girl. But to his bad luck. He couldn't find her. Suddenly he heard the king making an announcement. So, he went near Basanta who gave him a "where were you" look. And Sisir just shrugged. Before the announcement, a waiter came up to them and Basanta took an orange juice while Sisir refused. But chocked on air when he heard what his father said. He looked at this brother to see that he had also chocked on his drink and now was coughing very badly. Sisir patted his back and took the glass of juice from him. After a few seconds, basanta's breathing became normal. Basanta also looked at Sisir and they both looked like their souls are coming out of their body. All the people there were shocked as well. Everyone were speechless. There was only one thing that was playing in Sisir's mind, "WTF!!!" So any guesses what Klaus announced? Write your guess in the comments.
