"kids stop running. It's bed time already."

A lady called her children who were busy playing around instead of listening to their mother. They were throwing pillows at each other and making a mess of the room.

But did they listen to her? Of course not. she sighed deeply and said to them,

"if you both would be good. I will tell you a bed time story."

The two little kids suddenly stooped their actions and come to their mother. She smiled and put them both in bed. One of the kid said,

"mom. What story are we going to listen today?"

The elder one asked his mother while the younger one looked at his mom with exciting sparkling eyes. Their mother chuckled and said,

"so, what story do you want to listen today. Naughty brats."

they both made a thinking face and the elder one said,

"don't know mom. It is hard to choose. So you decide."

To which the mother replied,

"okay. Fine. which story should I tell you. Hmm. let me think. So, who wants to hear the story of the two brothers. SISIR and BASANTA."

To which the kids shouted, "Me. Me. Me" their mother laughed and began to tell the story.

(A/N: I don't know if it is a children's story or not. i have listened to this story my whole chidhood. so bear with it.)

The story began:

Once upon a time, there was a large kingdom far away. It was named as Neville. The kingdom was ruled by a very powerful king and his beloved queen. The name of the king was Klaus and his queen's name was Ava. They were blessed with two children. Their names were Sisir and Basanta. Sisir was 13 years old and Basanta was 9 years old. They all live a happy life. There was no problem happening in the kingdom as well. But their happiness didn't last long. It had to be ruined. And it did.

One very fine day, the queen decided to stich some clothes by looking outside the window. There was a large tree located outside the queen's room window. It can be seen that in that tree, a couple of birds lived with their children or should I say little chicks. The queen adored them and loved to see them. The birds collected food for their children, came and feed them. It was their daily routine.

Until one day, when the male bird was out to collect some food for his children. A hunter who was passing by came there. He was bored so he decided to have some fun. He grabbed a stone from the floor and hit the mama bird. The bird fell from the tree to the ground and died. The hunter was satisfied. So he went away with the dead body of the female bird.

(A/N: That hunter was a creep who love to kill and hurt animals. Anyways back to the story.)

The baby birds cried for a long time in search of the warmth of their mother. A while later, the male bird came back from his search of food and was shocked to not see his wife there. He searched for her in the nearby area.

But he failed to find her. He searched for a few days again and at last he assumed that the female bird was dead. He took care of his children but it was difficult for him as he just became a single parent. He thought that he need a partner to feed his children. So he brought another female bird. They were happy again.

But soon the female bird or we could say the stepmother of the little chicks was annoyed by them as they were always hungry. One day, she could not tolerate her patience. She became so angry that she threw away the nest along with the children from her beak to the ground. The little baby birds cried from pain and soon took their last breath in earth. The male bird had gone to collect some food for the children trusting his new wife that she would take care of their beloved children. Oh, how wrong was he?

when he returned back. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. His new wife chirping happily in the branch of the tree and his children lying dead along with their nest in the ground. He was heartbroken from this scene.

(A/N: Birds have feelings too you know).

He went near his children and touched them in an attempt to wake them up. But it was no use. His beloved little babies were gone a long time ago without even saying goodbye to their father. He cried his heart out.

(A/N: yes, birds can cry as well but I don't know how. Don't ask me.)

All the scene, that happened from the past days from the death of the female bird, the arrival of the new one and the death of the little babies who did not even learn how to fly yet was all seen by the queen who watched them from her palace's window.

Ava was heartbroken from that scene which just happened in front of her eyes. She was having mixed feelings. She was scared and horrified but most importantly feared. She started to re-imagine this scene that just happened in front of her eyes. She had known that a heart of a step mother or father is very cruel towards their stepchildren. But in place of the birds, it was her family.

She feared that the same thing might happen to her as well. She began to imagine that once she died. Her husband would marry another woman. At first, that woman would take care of her children but soon she would also show her true intentions. She would torture them and kill them at last. Ava couldn't handle her thoughts. She was overthinking. Her breathing became heavy. She was having a panic attack from all the negativity. She fell down from the chair and fall on the ground. At that same time, Sisir's voice can be heard from outside.

"May I come in. Your highness."

But, he didn't hear any response. So, he went inside and the scene in front of his face, horrified him. His beloved mother was on the ground. She was trying to catch her breath. He immediately went to her. He tried to calm her down as he knew his mom was having a panic attack. He took his mother in his arms and rocked her slowly to calm her. He said sweet words to her.

"calm down mom. i am here."

After a while, she calmed down and took a long breath. She was in her senses now. Sisir helped her stand up from the ground. He was still worried for her. He saw that his mother was zoning out. He shook her arm and she flinched because of that. He asked in a soft, calm and worried voice,

"Mom, are you okay? Let's go to the royal pharmacist. You are starting to have panic attacks again."

Ava listened to him. She had a soft smile in her lips. Oh how much she is going to miss her son after she die. She thought.

(A/N: I know you all be like, "why is this woman so dramatic. It was just a bird. But she is a very sensitive person. And she is a mother who loves her children more than anything in the world. So no hate comments on her.)

So, how was the first chapter. i know it was boring and short. but, what can i do. i lack experience. i hope we will meet soon in the next chapter as well. till then, ta ta bye bye.
