A broken promise - SISIR AND BASANTA

Chapter 17

Meanwhile in the palace, a thief was sneaking inside the kitchen. It was sneaking very quietly as the guards who were responsible to guard the royal kitchen were sleeping like wild buffalos and snoring loudly. the thief smirked and made its way towards the loaf of freshly made bread which was made by the maid's earlier. When, He/ She were going to eat that delicious soft bread. It heard a shout whisper which made it flinch very badly. The whisper said, "what is happening here?" when it turned around, it became shocked to see who it was.

SISIR'S POV

I soon sneaked inside the palace gate. Hope nobody sees me. I was feeling very hungry. So I started looking for the kitchen for some food. when I was searching for it, I saw a shadow that was walking towards a certain room. I decided to follow it because it was looking suspicious. I fear it may indicate danger for us and as a king, it is my responsibility to protect the people. So, I began to follow it. That person entered the room I saw that at the corner of the room. Two guards were sleeping peacefully. How irresponsible. i am damn sure if one day our palace was attacked then these guards would still be sleeping. I should talk to Andrea about this. she must be sleeping now. i should be careful. I went inside. It was dark. But, I saw a figure trying to get something. it's back was facing me. I slowly shouted, "what is happening here?" the person flinched very badly and turned around in slow motion. And when I looked at that mysterious person's face, I become shocked and shouted.

OUT OF SISIR'S POV

"ANDREA !!!!" yup. That was Andrea trying to sneak into the kitchen like a thief in her own palace. She widened her eyes in horror. She quickly went near him drooping the bread in the process and put her hand over his mouth to shut him up. Sisir was too stunned to even process anything until he heard Andrea whispering in his ear, "lower your voice. do you want to wake the buffalos who are outside sleeping like it's their last day on this planet? Don't make a noise. I don't want a rumor to start in the palace that the king and the queen were caught in the kitchen at the middle of the night. We will talk after we get out of here. And by the way why are you here at this moment and where were you all day? I had to lie to the people that you were sleeping in the room because you were very tired to make it less suspicious. You better spill the tea later." Andrea was blabbing non-stop without even letting Sisir speak a word. So, for the sake of his precious ears, he shushed her. Andrea became silent and let go of her hand from his mouth. Sisir took a deep breath and said, "will you first let me talk. Please." She nodded. Sisir continued, "okay, so first of all. Where ever I go it is none of your business. I had a thing to do. So, I left to complete it. And second of all, I am here with you at this moment because I am hungry. Now let's make a deal. I will not tell anyone that you are here neither will you. Let's just eat some food to fill our tummy and go to bed. Is that clear." Andrea just nodded. Suddenly, she was less interested in speaking. Until she realized they were very close to each other. She slowly mumbled, "you are too close." They both pulled away from each other awkwardly. Sisir scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. He failed to notice a red blush in his wife's eyes. Suddenly, both of their stomach growled. They looked away from each other in awkwardness. Andrea said, "let's just eat and go to bed, shall we?" Sisir nodded his head. and the next thing we know, we all can imagine two people who have the highest ranking of their kingdom eating food like they are some beggar and didn't get the chance to eat food for years.

(A/N: I know it is dramatic. And I want to apologize if you felt uncomfortable in this scene. I didn't want to be rude to the beggars that are dying day by day due to hunger and are losing the faith in humanity. Again I apologize. So, lets continue the story.)

After their food eating section, they quietly left the kitchen after cleaning the mess. And Andrea swore to herself that she will fire those useless guards first thing in the morning. When they reached their room, again the perfume of awkwardness spread all across the room and highly affected Sisir and Andrea. So, you know what happened next. Nothing. They just went to the king sized bed, put a big pillow in the middle and slept cause they both were not really that close and it would be awkward if you sleep while cuddling with a stranger. Well, that was their opinion.

(A/N: am I the only one who is getting Bollywood hindi serial vibes while reading my own written story.)

The next day, Sisir explained everything that had happened in their wedding night. And the people were over the moon. They were grateful to the god that a king like Sisir had been sent by them to rule their kingdom. The elder people were sure that Sisir would make their kingdom prosperous. Now, it was clear that the people of Noemi had accepted him as their king and Sisir was gonna make them proud. And not to mention that all the teenage girls of the kingdom were squealing, screaming and some even had a nosebleed. Because in their opinion, Sisir was too handsome and charming to be real. (A/N: but, where is the lie.) and by listening to those girls, our Andrea was facing an unknown feeling on her stomach. She didn't like the fact that other girls were drooling over her husband. Only god knows how badly, Andrea wanted to slice those girls head who looked like ugly ducklings who are wearing gallons of makeup on their face in her opinion. But, she remained calm as she didn't want to create a scene in front of the people. And Andrea kept her promise. She fired the kitchen bodyguards who were sleeping like buffalos last night and hired new ones. She also made the security strict as rivals may attack at the palace at any moment. At night, Andrea was in her deep thought thinking about her past in the balcony, that she didn't notice Sisir coming towards her. 

She fliched a bit when she suddenly heard Sisir spoke, "oye keti. Ke soch dai hau yesari yo sundar dekhiyeko chandrama ko muni basera. Tolaudai. hami lai pani bhana na."

Translation, "oh girl. What are you thinking so deeply under this beautiful looking moon? I also want to hear about it." Sisir said that to cheer up her mood as he noticed that she looked quite upset. She just sighed and said, "nothing. Just thinking about the past." To which Sisir replied, "I know that you are hesitant to tell me about your past. Like how the curse started in the first place. I am a curious person. But I will wait until you will be fully comfortable with me to share your secrets. Till then, let's be friends, shall we?" by saying this, Sisir extended his pinky finger in front of Andrea. She chuckled while looking at Sisir's childish act. But she decided to play along. And combined her pinky finger as well. She mumbled an okay. And that's how a new friendship started between these two which may lead to another thing. Well let's see what their destiny has written for them.

(A/N: now, I will tell about what happened to Basanta after Sisir left him in the forest from the next chapter.)
