Asgard was a  beautiful place. Even after their desertion from the main land, the people never lost their way of evolving. Standing on top of the fortress, Thor looked at how much his people had accomplished in such a  period of time . He was impressed. Ragnarok just showed him how great of a people he had to rule.

"yes, your majesty

"yes, your majesty. I was told you wanted to see me? " asked the prestigious voice that belonged to Valkyrie.
He turned around to look at her as  she moved closer to view what the king had been feasting his eyes on.
"they really are a great people huuhh. In such a short period of time, they have accomplished more than the native earthlings " she added on.
"yes,i agree. And that is what I wanted to talk to you about " Thor calmly mentioned. Valkyrie wasn't sure of what to predict. Usually, his facial expressions would say it all but this time, he had non.
"Valkyrie, the people of Asgard have depended on the reign of the gods since the beginning of their existence.  Just as much as we have depended on their survival " he said to her.
Looking over at the land they were able to see, Valkyrie fiddled with the little information that he had said.  But she had not yet connected any logical dots.
"of course my king. But why are you telling me this "she asked, really looking for a direct answer.
" I'm telling you this because as the mother of the heir to the throne, you have been charged with duties under the rules of Asgard " Thor finally said, breathing out. That been said, Valkyrie did not need to be told more of what she heard.
"yes, but we talked about this. I'm not going to spend the rest of my life with a man under obligations " she said shaking her head.  Thor faced her calmly as her beauty shines in his eyes.
He never really understood why Valkyrie never craved for what others would kill for. He was practically offering a side by side ruling extinency.
"Bunnhilde, the people need a queen " he  told her, emphasizingly.
"no, the people need an heir and I've already given you one .even though it wasn't in my place to " she muttered the last words to herself. Her heart raced, competing with the blood that now flowed through her veins. God, what had she just said.
"what do you mean by that " he asked, his voice mixed with curiosity and pain. Valkyrie faced the other side but could see the disappointment on his face.
"nothing. " she mouthed, attempting to leave.
"don't you walk out on me Valkyrie " he said holding her hand before she could go.
"I do what I want " Valkyrie slurred at him. Even the king fought to imagine what kind of courage that the young warrior possessed.
" Valkyrie !" he shouted.  His voice was everything but calm now.  It commanded respect and  Valkyrie trembled at the sound of his tone.
"Jane... Was only half of who you are " he said finally, his voice tuned down to normal. He spoke with a specific plea in his articulation. Valkyrie could tell. The king was printing. There was something he wanted to say. Something he could not hide. She searched in his eyes, begging for her to understand.
" your majesty " she called out, seeking for attention. He looked at her with love in his frustrated eyes.
" what you really want from me and why. Tell me the truth " Valkyrie spoke up sincerely.
" OK.. I  want you..no, I. I need to be my queen. "he pleaded trying hard not to bend in his words.
