"Yelenah..phone call " Valkyrie called ,disturbing Yelenah from her imaginary Epithany.
"oh yeah, put him on hold" she responded without a care . Val roled her eyes and sighed. She knew were this conversation was heading. Her friend had been ignoring calls from fury since she got to New York.
"oh you mean like yesterday when you put him on hold.. And The day after that" she said. Yelenah, just like Spiderman and many others ,was requested by fury to come and protect the world as a shield agent.
At first she was skeptical about it. Being a 'pauser' as she so deemed would rather call it, wasn't her next wish on any of her bucket lists.
But Yelenah owed it to her self to be part of that life. To protect those that cannot be protected. To do for others what no one could do for her when she needed it.
And as a bonus, she needed to find ways to feel closer to Natasha. So she agreed.
"I'm gonna talk to him... It's just that I've been busy " she lied. The truth was that Yelenah could not admit it at the time that she was scared. Scared that she might not fit into such a world.
"hey ... I know that you think there's no use trying ..but you have to risk it" val told her,understanding her actions without being imformed. Yelenah had only begun to find her self after the destruction of the red room and pressure that came with it gave her a scare. What if she never finds the light that her sister talked about in the later she wrote her.
"The red room held back a so much of who I wanted and needed to be" Yelenah said sadly. even after its destruction, she still felt inclined to its effects.
Not that she had a choice. She was taken there to be widowed. So that means even if she tried, being the best version of her self, she would never reach it fully.
"yeah.. Busy dreaming all day" val joked, remembering her friend's comment about her being busy.
"excuse me " Yelenah responded, surprised.
"oh come on.. You think I haven't noticed you staring into space ever since you came back from that bar" val said.
Yelenah was speechless. She didn't know what to say now.
"so..? " val slithered through her thoughts. Her big brown eyes piecing through her core.

"so what "Yelenah responded to her. "have you been day dreaming " she asked finally.
Of course she had been day dreaming. From the time she met that guy in the bar, he was all she could think about.
" what.. Of course not. What would a person like me have to day dream about " she lied. Her Russian accent,giving away her infringement.
Even though she had not seen him again from that time, Yelenah still kept his spitting image in her mind. His hair, not too long but cut and combed to the right style. His eye were brown, like Valkyrie's but a bit small and with a childish vision. Even his hight, she could not forget. Despite her being sitted at that time, Yelenah knew that he was taller than her.
His name, she held at the very palm of her hand and still knew it like the back of her head. Peter Parker, it was. So simple and yet gave the young woman a very difficult time to focus.
"I don't think.. You want me to answer that buyout, I know what you should answer.. Fury. " val said, shaking her head at her friend
"oh.. The phone's back on, answer or we're talking about that night "she said giving her friend the vibrating phone and leaving the room. Yelenah nodded her head. Valkyrie had again left her speechless. At this point, she knew that she wouldn't stop until Yelenah did the needful, leaving her with no choice but to pick up fury's call.
"hello" she said picking up the call.
"outside" she heard a male voice tell her over the phone. Authough she was not sure if this was fury, Yelenah trusted her instincts and went out without saying a word to val. As she approached outside. She saw a older man with an eye patch sitted on the outside bench.
Yelenah had never met fury but judging from the information she gathered from the internet and people who have met him, she didn't have to take a long guess.
"why." fury said out of the blues.
"why? " she responded startled and unsure of what was happening.
"yes why? Why are you you kids of today so stiff with phone calls " he asked.
Yelenah was caught off guard. She did not know what fury was talking about
"well it doesn't matter.. Your sister told me to find you and I have, work starts now. Follow me " fury told her and he started to walk into a Prada across the street near their house .
He walked for a few paces and noticed that the girl was still far behind.
Not that she wanted to make this difficult. Yelenah made it clear to herself. She was done running. But she couldn't just leave without saying a word to her friend who had taken her in when she first came to New York.
"fine... Go. I'll be here waiting " fury said and Yelenah ran into the house and told her friend everything.
"thank you..val " she said .
"yeah yeah don't sound like we'll never see each other again. "val told her friend. It was clear to Yelenah that she was at her worst trying to be strong.
"Ill miss you.. Yelenah,come back and visit " she added on.
Yelenah nodded and looked at her friend one last time before going out. With everything that Valkyrie had been through, she wished she could have stayed longer. From fighting along side Thor for Asgard to winnig the infinity war and falling for him . Valkyrie knew that she had seen better days because now as it was she was on a self exile. Although with a completely different reason,she too was running from destiny.
After falling for the king, she fell pregnant and was carrying the next air to the throne. But also like Yelena, Valkyrie was scared of the consequences. After Jane's arrival, Valkyrie knew she couldn't stay. She couldn't.
Yelenah thought to herself. No wonder she didn't want anything to do with shield coz that would mean she'd risk Thor finding her.
" so are ready" fury asked as the young blonde walked over the porch to were the car was.
She didn't respond. Yelenah just opened the door and got in.
"huhh... Well you were right Natasha,.shes just like you. This will be interesting " fury said to himself. He got in the car and drove off the street as fast as lightning till the car turned into a jet.
"wooh" Yelenah exclaimed.
"watch your self kid. What did you really think I'd drive just to get you. " fury asked, not expecting an answer.
Yelenah could not help thinking how ironic that statement was.
But honestly she didn't care. All that was in her head was the life ahead of her and Peter. Yes.how could she forget. Her head kept drifting back to his smile and voice every chance it got. So really, Yelenah could not help it.
