Amy picked a dark gray long sleeve, that was a V shirt with lacing for the V in the shirt. She also picked some jean like pants that looked like it was meant for only her.
Amy looked around for a place to change and only saw trees that blocked all around but still left one way of view. Jack offered. "I could hold up a towel." Amy shrugged, with Leaf in the woods she couldn't go change by the shoreline anymore, so Jack was her best option at the moment. Amy felt uncomfortable with wearing so little clothes, she wanted to change more than anything and didn't want to wait. Amy got up as Jack got a towel and they walked by the trees. Jack held up the towel as he looked away with his eyes closed. Amy was questionable about this all happening, but had a sense Jack was trustworthy. Amy also didn't want to be out there alone when it was getting so dark. Amy took off her undershirt, leaving her chest exposed as she asked. "Are you bringing me back to my human home, or are you keeping me here forever?" Jack gulped as he heard her undershirt hit the ground but he kept focus on the question. "I can't bring you back to your human home, even if I wanted to. That wasn't the orders I was given, if I was to find you." Amy was silent as she put on the long sleeve but nervousness and fear overwhelmed her better judgement. "You don't know what he will do to me if I don't go back home." Amy clapped a hand over her mouth as she paused in fear, why would she tell him such a thing. Now she really was going to get it, if her step father ever found out.
Jack asked as his expression didn't change. "Who are you talking about? What you mean by what he will do to you?" Amy quickly took off her jeans she had on before and then put on the pants she grabbed from the bag. Amy tugged on the towel edge to let him know she was done. He opened his eyes and she quickly walked back to their little fire.
Jack followed; Amy sat down close to the fire. But Jack sat right by her, facing her. Jack gently said. "Amy I am your guard for life now, no one will ever harm you again if I am here with you. Just like how that old man tried taking you, I will kill anyone that tries to take you away from me." Amy snapped back, not meaning to be so harsh. "Yeah, you did such a great job when Leaf gave me this hickey." Jack's jaw tightened as he knew that was true. "I would have never let it get that far again with someone else, and I had to build up my stamina to move that fast again, after what I done to the old hooded man. But that's no excuse for my dishonorable move. Everyone in this world has stamina that can only go so far."
Jack grabbed Amy's right hand with both his hands, he bowed his head enough so his forehead touched both of her hands. "I'm deeply sorry that he marked you. But I also knew he would never harm you. But I still failed at my job to protect you from even the smallest thing. For that I'm deeply sorry once again. But I want you to stay close to me no matter what so that won't happen again." Amy was shocked at Jack's jester, she had to speak slowly to make sure her voice wouldn't crack. "Yes, yes, I believe you Jack."
Jack raised his head and he had a soft expression on, his shoulders weren't so tense and his body language wasn't so uptight anymore. Amy couldn't help but stay in the trance of them both staring into each other's eyes.
Leaf came rumbling through the leaves beside them, breaking their staring. Amy looked away first, looking back at the fire as she tried to warm her hands. Jack stood up while Leaf was grinning at him, noticing the faint look of amusement in Jack's eyes.
Leaf dropped a big salmon fish on the ground while he went back in the woods. Leaf came out again, dragging a tied-up deer that was still alive. Jack barked as the deer yelped and cried out for help. "You didn't take the life of the deer yet?" Leaf doubtfully said. "The bickering thing was already hard to get, let alone kill it. You do that mate; I hate seeing the animals die." Jack noticed Amy's glares at the poor animal and deliberately said. "We don't need to be giving the girl poor nightmares." Leaf eyed Jack and joked. "You just don't want to kill such a we deer like this one." Jack eyed him back but said nothing as he tried to figure what to do. Amy was up on her feet as she went towards the deer. Leaf stated as she got close to it. "The thing is a wild buck; I wouldn't touch it. Might give you a disease." Amy said nothing back as she grabbed a large rock by the deer. The deer looked at her with sadness as it knew what was coming next.
