The four of them walked out of the hut, going from the front door to the side of the hut. Behind the hut was a huge sparing ring.

The sparing ring looked like something out of a fantasy book that real armored men would fight to the death in. The sparing ring had this huge metal ring around it, the flooring was just dirt. Far to the right side of the sparing ring, stood a rack of weapons stored on a shelf, the shelf held dozes and dozes worth of weapons. The shelf was huge enough to hold the weapons perfectly and properly without a single weapon falling out. Other than the shelf in the ring, that was about the only thing in it.

Amy watched as both boys entered the ring, giving each other death looks. Sir Parker and Amy stood at the very end of the sparing ring, watching the boys get ready.

The sun was slowly going down, night would soon be here.

Jack pulled out the sword at his side, while Leaf pulled out the same rock he threatened Amy with before, from his waist band. Jack laughed. "You think you can win against me with a mere rock!?" Leaf's smug grin grew large, his grin was from ear to ear now. "I don't need a real weapon to beat you. Both of us lads know that, even if you have a rock for a brain!" Jack growled and ran towards Leaf, charging at him with the sword. Leaf chuckled as he took a step to the side away from the very tip of Jack's sword, but Jack swung to the side.

Amy flinched, thinking that Leaf was about to get hit by the blade. But Leaf dropped to his knees at the same time Jack swung, Leaf laid flat like a board on his stomach till the sword swung over him. Leaf scrambled up off his stomach, scurrying on his hands and knees towards Jack. Leaf took ahold of Jack's legs in his open arms and used all his force to pull back on Jack's legs, throwing out Jack's balance. Jack let out a cuss as he fell forward, on top of Leaf.

Laughter was heard from Leaf; a spur of cuss words was heard from Jack.

Leaf got on top of Jack, pinning him to the ground. Amy whispered to Sir Parker. "I'm not trying to be rude or anything. But Jack is twice the size of Leaf. How is Leaf pinning him so easy?" Sir Parker gave a sad grieved smile, his eyes watched the flow of the fight between the two boys. "Like Leaf and Jack has told the spoken story before, they trained together side by side for years as boys. Both boys are the strongest soldiers known for their age, but when they are put together against the common enemy, they truly are invincible."

Sir Parker eyes filled with sorrow as he watched Jack throw Leaf off of him. "No matter what they were faced with, if both boys fought side by side, they would always win. When they use to just train side by side as young lads, it was truly stunning. Both boys are so different from each other. When people would see the boys inside the ring or fighting against something, they thought both boys was perfect. But when people would see them outside the ring, they thought of them just as brothers. To answer your question, Princess. The reason why Leaf is able to pin him, looking like how he is, is because both boys know each other's weakness, they know each other's breaking points and strengths, that's why they use to be the King and Queen's favorite Deadlanders." Amy asked, watching both boys scramble to their feet, about to go at each other again. "What's Deadlanders?"

Sir Parker replied as Jack swung his sword at Leaf, while Leaf swung his rock at Jack. "Deadlanders is the best ranking for a pair of soldiers together. The ranking system goes by five ranks. The very bottom ranking, a common one, the fifth ranking, that every pair of soldiers are at when they first begin is Eudocos. The fourth ranking is a level up from very common, it means you're doing better than the common ranking, the rank is called Jawels. The third ranking is what only few have, it means your bond with each other as soldiers is strong, it is called Nidas. The second ranking is very rare to hear, not only do we only have about ten pairs in the present day with this ranking. But it is very honorable and rare, it's called Dellons. The number one ranking is Deadlanders. There is no better honor then being just in the mere presence of a pair of Deadlanders. Their ranking is something only five pairs of soldiers have ever gotten in the whole history of this world. Just like we have said before, the normal life span here is a couple of thousands of years, or even longer, we don't know how long someone can life of old age yet."

Amy questioned him, almost in amazement of Jack and Leaf. "So, they were once Deadlanders, but because Leaf back down from the mission to find me, he lost the ranking?"

Sir Parker's gentle cheerful tone, turned to complete sorrow. "Yes."
