I don't know for what reason but our high school appointed sophomores for School Representatives . It was quite unnecessary.
Positions of President, Vice President, Sports Head and Festival heads existed.
Now to elect those positions, Class Representatives of Class Rep as they called it had to be appointed.
Naturally, Oscar was interested in contesting elections.
He had the class in his favor as he provided us with notes and essays from time to time.
However, it is said, even Gods must be opposed, I've heard of the saying I don't know if it's true
Oscar had a competitor, Valentin.
Valentin was a year older than all of us and his grades were straight As. He was a teacher pleaser and their favorite. While Oscar had the class support, Valentin had the support of all the faculty.
Oscar considered Valentin as a good friend; he would regularly talk to him causally. They would open up to each other about their life problems too. However, Oscar never noticed that Valentin wasn't sharing any of his personal problems. Valentin would listen to everything Oscar had to say, while keeping his hands in his pockets.
Oscar didn't know that Valentin was recording everything. The naive rabbit was played by the cunning fox.
A week before the elections, it was revealed that faculty won't be electing the Class Rep, it would be the students. Threatened by this, Valentin made his move.
He called Oscar's mother and told her everything that her son was up to. Honestly, I have no idea what it was about but it involved 5 other friends of ours.
Oscar's mother went into trauma. She wasn't expecting her son to turn out this way. Oscar returned home after school to see his mother weeping on the ground. The news has broken her. Oscar called his father immediately as he didn't know what to do.
His father came within a day, drove all the way across state. After he arrived, she calmed down a bit but wasn't well the entire week. Oscar had to explain to his father everything that was going on. His father wasn't surprised. Valentin had played a very bad move. He told Oscar's mother that if Oscar didn't withdraw, he could have him expelled and probably even jailed with his friends. It was that serious. Oscar's father explained to him, that his mother came from a catholic girl's school, so it definitely was a shock for her. Nevertheless, his father told him to continue no matter what, he was there for him.
With this incident in mind Oscar was drunk on revenge. He had to win now, he would've let it go earlier because Valentin was his friend, but now that wasn't going to happen.
On day of the election, both candidates gave a speech, and let me say, compared to Valentin, Oscar had a much better response. Valentin was about to do something behind the podium, he had plugged in his microchip of recordings in the school announcement room. That's when Nash and Yade came to the rescue. One turned off the electrical supply in the announcement room and the other locked Valentin inside.
It was a perfect plan.
The faculty responsible returned after the ballot votes were gathered and counted and found Valentin inside, to which he was immediately reported and action was taken.
So not only did Valentin get disqualified and suspended for a week for malpractice and violation of school property but he had also lost by a huge landslide, 55:6.
Oscar claims to have voted for Valentin too, I mean how stupid can you get!
