Nomzamo's POV

Today is the 24th of September a day to remember,a day to celebrate in South Africa many people are rejoicing on this day

Remembering and being proud of our culture and heritage surely is something amazing I am standing from afar watching a show during the schools assembly

Many children participated in the heritage concert singing ,dancing being proudly south African some even wrote poems ,and sang beautiful south African songs which once we're a part of us as South Africans

My friend and I have been standing at the last row of the assembly most because we didn't want to get too involved ,Luthando and I have been friends since grade 8 when we first came into this school

Well before I go any further my name's is Nomzamo Imani Liyana I am from the Nkosi clan a family so powerful ,I currently reside in Durban North we are not a rich family but we are stable

My dad is a physiotherapist at Netcare hospital in umhlanga and my mother is a professional chef we don't have much but my parents try to give me finer things in life mostly because they have been nothing but proud of me

I am the second born at home I have 2 brothers and a sister
The teacher finally dismissed the assembly I take Lee's hand into mine and pull her to the direction of my classroom

Luthando:"you just using me ke wena zamo"

Me:"how am I using you ?"

Luthando:"phela your class is nearer than mine mina I have to walk alone to my class "

Me:"come on luthando stop being a baby about it phela yithi u love me nje ?"

Luthando:"never did I say I love you "

Me:"so you don't love me ?"

I turn my facials to a frown acting sad all of the sudden she looks at me with sadness and pulls me to a hug

Luthando:"okay okay fine you baby I love you "

She continually kisses my cheeks

Me:"okay stop it now that's enough "

Luthando:"come let me take you to class "

We attend at Earnest college which is a high school located at Umhlanga it is a very massive and huge school it is already the third term.i am doing grade 9 this year and ready for grade 10

I hear small whispering voices in my head as if someone is calling my name

'nomzamo'

I continually look around checking to see who is calling me but I spot no one with a look of attention directed at me everybody is getting ready to go to their classes so clearly maybe I was hallucinating

Luthando:"you okay ?"

Me:"yep "

Luthando:"you sure ?"

Me:"honestly I don't know Lee but maybe I'm gonna tell you later "

Luthando:"okay bye then see you at break "
