We were thrown back into the cell, one after the other. The door locked and we were alone again. Hatter began to pace the room, he turned to face me. Anger seeped through his voice "When were you going to tell me. When did you think would be a good time to mention who you are Alice or should I say your highness." He sarcastically bowed to me. Throwing myself to the wall I leaned against it and began to slide down to sit on the floor, and I began to cry hysterically. Hatter turned, gave a sigh of frustration as he knelt by my side, "Alice?"
"He lied to me." I cried. "After everything, it was all just a lie. My sister was right. I'm such an idiot" Hatter brushed my hair out of my face to cup my cheeks in his hands.
"You're wrong, you've shown more courage than anyone I've ever met before. Standing up to her like that was incredible. You said what everyone else was too afraid to say. Alice, you were deceived. That's all. He isn't worth your tears, trust me." I breathed in, trying to calm myself down. Hatter smiled a caring smile, sat beside me and put his arm around me.
"Hatter? I'm sorry for not telling you who I really am. I never knew anything about it until I came here. Until I met you... and now I'm going to die in a place I never knew was really home." My crying had calmed a little. Knowing that I wasn't alone was a sort of comfort.
"I understand why you didn't, and I'd rather die with Alice by my side than the White Princess. Besides, dying will be an awfully big adventure" I smiled, giving a small chuckle as he quoted Peter Pan. I placed my head on his shoulder, as he rested his head on top of mine I closed my eyes and thought about home.
