Eva's POV
"Save her Zachary!" I shouted at him.
I watched as he flinched and his eyes flickered from red and back to their golden color for a split second. I felt a warm hand clutch my shoulder as I turned around to see Eli shaking his head at me.
"You know better than anyone to not mess with an Angel when they are in the middle of using their ability, it angers us," He explained.
" I've been with my sister for what feels like an eternity, you don't think I know that?" I rolled my eyes.
"I'm just saying the magic involving the mind is very complicated and if you keep disturbing him then-"
"My sister is in the fucking hospital in a coma! I don't give a damn about anything else except getting her back!" I screamed at Eli.
"SHUT UP!" We both turned around to see Zachary staring at us with red angry eyes.
He focused his attention back to Ava as he calmed down, his eyes returning back to their normal golden color.
I huffed and stormed out of the hospital, impatient and just wanting the return of my sister.
I walked toward the pack house as I walked straight towards the Alpha's office and sure enough I slammed the door open and was faced with Alpha Derek himself sitting on the other side of his desk, just staring out of the window.
"Come to harass me some more? This time you didn't shape shift as Taylor," He pointed out as he motioned for me to sit down.
"Mortals are interesting creatures and you're my sisters mate so of course I want to study you more closely," I shrugged my shoulders as I sat down.
"Shoot me then," He smirked as he leaned forward.
"Alpha Derek of the Blood Moon pack, known as one of the most deadliest Alphas in this region, merciless, cruel and a bit of an asshole," I said as I leaned back.
"Is that what they're calling me these days, funny," He chuckled as he stared out the window and placed his feet up on his desk.
"So you're trying to start a war against Alpha Liam? How is he even alive? Ava killed him many years ago?" I began to question him.
"I'm not trying to start a war I'm trying to prevent a war but he's powerful, he has abilities similar to yours but I can't really explain it," He said.
I looked at him for a second, wondering if I could trust him to take care of Ava, to not make the same mistake as one once did with Ava.
"Liam used to be Ava's mate long ago, even before she became the legendary black winged Assassin Angel, at that time she was a grey winged Angel. No real job, no real powers, they are there until the Moon Goddess decides whether they deserve a real Angel position or to die. He used to beat her, abuse her, use her, cheat on her and made her feel as though she deserved all of it until one day she couldn't take it anymore and she stuck a sword through his chest, I can't remember all of the details because these were all her words but he pretty much put her through Hell," I said, watching his face closely as I explained her situation.
Anger, sympathy, sincerity and regret were plastered clear on his face as he followed my words, a million thoughts running through his mind.
Silence took over the entire room the moment I finished talking, looking up at him I noticed his eyes now closed as he breathed heavily before opening his eyes and staring back at me.
"The past is the past, this gives me all the more reason to rip Liams head of his fucking neck," He smirked at me.
"You know you remind me a lot of Ava, cocky, confident, a smart ass but kind of amusing to be around. I guess I can see why the Moon Goddess decided to pair you two together but what I don't understand is your little lap dog," I nodded my head at the painful looking mark laid upon his neck.
