I felt a soft hand continuously shake me back and forth as I groaned and rolled over, annoyed at the intruder for disrupting my slumber.

"Eve leave me the hell alone and let me sleep," I grumbled as I flipped over.

"I don't know who Eve is but you gotta get up, you're lucky the Alpha has sent me to come and fetch you instead of someone else," I heard a soft voice giggle that sounded nothing like anyone I knew.

My eyes shot wide open in surprise as a young woman appeared before me, smiling warmly at me.

I wasn't with Eve at all.

I wasn't at the white wolves pack, I was at the Dark Moon pack where last night I just discovered that Alpha Derek was my second chance mate, something I dreaded but also longed to see what it might lead to be.

The woman before me had to be in her late twenties, her hair was black and curly which was similar to mine. Her face seemed so smooth and blemish free against her brown complexion and her eyes were a dark chocolate brown, eyes I always favored because they reminded me of my own.

"The Alpha told me to take care fo you for some odd reason so I got you a change of clothes after I get you to wash yourself," She said as she got up from the dirty mattress I was laying on.

I nodded my head as I stood up to follow her out of this little attic I call my temporary home of stay. I followed her down the stairs until we reached another door, as she opened the door I noticed the walls were completely white except for every piece of furniture which seemed to be black from the bed frame, to the mirror frame.

"Black is such a powerful and underrated color, would you agree?" She asked as she looked back and smiled at me.

"Yes, I don't think people give the color black enough credit, they think it's darkness but I think it's light," I answered.

"So well spoken of you," She nodded her head as she led to me to the bathroom inside of the room.

I think I was going to like this girl.

She left me alone in the bathroom with a warm bath already ran for me and ready to go. I stripped myself from the filthy rags I was in and stepped inside the bath, moaning out in relief as the warm water touched my skin.

As I stripped my skin of all the dirt and grime from the night before, I stepped out of the bathroom freshly clothed and noticed the woman lost in thought as she sat on her bed.

"Your name? So what is it?" I asked awkwardly as I scratched the back of my neck.

The only mortal contact I've had was with the white wolves but any other contact involved assassination so this was a new experience to me, speaking with a mortal as if we were equal.

She looked up at me and laughed as she shook her head.

"The Alpha was right, you seem different, my name is Natasha. What may I call you besides omega?" She asked as she stood up.

"Ava is what I prefer," I shrugged my shoulders.

"Alright than Ava, I have to take you down to my mate which is the Beta so he can show you what your task are while the Alpha is busy," Natasha said with a hint of sadness in her tone.

I nodded my headed an followed her out of the room , wondering what was in store for me that caused her to feel such sadness for me.

'Is that all you got?' I thought in my head as I received another blow to the stomach as I felt a huge bruise form and then quickly heal just as fast.
