Reporting Day

"Do you know, Mr. Kim is in a very bad mood today, I heard he also fired someone." Jiwon muttered in Ari's ears as they were in the waiting area outside the CEO's office.

"Uh-hmm", Ari knew all about it, actually she might be the reason for her boyfriend's sour mood. Today was reporting day, the day when they get the results of their work progress of the whole month and also the day for the decision of Marketing head.

"I don't think I've the best report in this month, I took a few leaves and even procrastinated two deadlines when Mr. Kim was in Singapore. Do you think I'll loose my job?" Jiwon's feet were shaking, she was scared.

"Don't worry, I'm sure nothing will happen." Ari said calmly hiding her own emotions which were crawling up inside. She was not sure what'll happen, she was herself frightened for her post, for her boyfriend's wrath. She started recalling what happened yesterday's night.

Flashback
Both Ari and Tae were on the couch, facing each other
"Why did you do it?" Tae was for real questioning her this time.
"I was scared for my post."

"So, you decided that working non-stop for hours, with no sleep, drinking caffeine the next day and ruining your health is the key to securing the title."
Ari was looking down, listening to all of it. She knew she was at fault at this time and Tae's temper was valid.

"I was stressed, I cannot loose this post, please understand."
"But you could've talked to me about it if you were feeling stressed, you did everything on my back, you fooled me Ari." Tae spoke the latter words with sadness, he was hurt.

"That's not true" Ari had so much to say but she was not able to, her words got stuck in her throat when she looked at her boyfriend who had a disappointed look on his face. It hurts her too.

"How do you think you're going to handle the post if you got selected if you get so worked up before even reaching for it?"

Than Tae's phone started ringing and he went outside to pick it up. Ari waited for them to continue their conversation but fell asleep on the sofa when the call took quite some time. When she woke up next morning, she was in their bed, alone. Taehyung must've shifted her. He was no where in the house, Mary informed her that Mr. Kim had to leave early for the office as they are having Reporting Day today.

Taehyung didn't text her or contact her since morning and she was getting anxious to talk to him. He didn't even pick up her call. She came back from her thoughts when Jiwon elbowed her, "Yah, go they are calling for you."

She walked and stood in front of a door, the door to CEO's office. She knocked and a come in was heard. She entered and saw how Taehyung was sitting with his glasses on, in any other circumstances Ari would find it so hot but today's not the day. His focus was on a file in his hand and simultaneously on the monitor next to it.

Without glancing at her he told her to take a seat.
"Ms. Lee, your overall report is impressive. No complaints, good reviews, no extra leave requests and you've completed a lot of projects in a span of 30 days."

He looked up at her when she made no reply.
"Have you had your breakfast?" Ari asked but Tae ignored her.

"Congratulations Ms. Lee you're the new and the only Marketing Head."
He said with the same blank face with no expressions on.

Ari was waiting for this moment for so long, yet she doesn't know why she feels no joy on hearing she finally got what she wished and worked for. But she knows the reason behind it, its because her boyfriend is mad at her.

"Don't" Ari finally got the courage to speak.
"Sorry?" Tae asked with raised eyebrows.
"Don't speak to me like that."
"Speak like how?"
"I'm not your employee and you're not only my boss, stop treating me like that."

"But aren't I your boss? You treated me like one instead of sharing things to your boyfriend."
"I'm sorry Tae."
"Sorry won't cut it this time Ari, tell me how long have you been doing this?"
At first Ari was thinking if she should answer to it but Tae beat her to it,
"Just tell me if you were doing it before that day I caught you."

"Yes."
Taehyung felt a pang in his chest hearing for how long his girlfriend is hiding the truth.
"Even when you had the chance to come clean about it, you decided to keep on hiding it. I can't believe this, what else are you hiding from me?"

This question made Ari furrow her eyebrows, what is Tae talking about? Does he think that I'm being dishonest?
"I'm not hiding anything; do you not trust me?"
"I trusted you with sharing too."

Ari had enough, Tae was being way too rude to her. His words hurt her and he should get that. She felt her own temper rising up.

"Why are you so angry about it? It's not even a thing concerning our relationship. You are acting as if I cheated on you, it was just me doing work without informing you, stop being so stubborn." She regretted her words as soon as they left her mouth and felt bad when she saw how Tae's face fell off.

"Really Ari, is that what you think I'm angry about, that maybe you finished some presentation behind my back. I'm your boyfriend, above everything else I'm to you, I'm your lover, someone you are supposed to share your burdens with, I'm concerned about you, I care about your whole being. I won't be able to stand if you get sick due to overworking. All I want is for you to take care of yourself."

"That's the sole reason why I didn't share it with you because you would've stopped me from doing it because you care about me."

"I would never go against your decision, all I would've done is give you a few back massages, make tea to calm your nerves, maybe work along with you even guide you if you need my help, motivate you and support you."

Ari was speechless, she never thought in his point of view.
"When you were all alone being anxious and taking stress, all I wanted was to be there for you in any role you wanted me to."

Ari felt so bad to hear her boyfriend being so emotional. She can't believe she failed to understand him, of course Tae would've supported her in everything, maybe she was plain stupid on doing this thing on her own. No in fact he would even let her do it on her own, she just had to ask for it.

Before she can think of anything to say,
"I've other reports to evaluate and I'll be late tonight, don't wait up for me."

It was her clue to leave the place. He made it clear that there's nothing more to talk about. She turned and started to walk out when Tae called out,
"To answer your question, yes I've had my breakfast because unlike you I never broke any of our rules."

Everyone congratulated Ari for the head post, even Jennie genuinely did, even if her genuine was a plain 'Congratulations'.

Jimin and Jiwon straight away hugged the life out of her. The Kim's also were happy with their new head. Jiwon can see Ari in a gloomy mood and said, "I think this news deserves a party."

They all made their way in to the club, Ari directly hitting the bar. After everyone got their drinks they toasted for Ari and moved their own way some to dance with others or maybe themselves.

Ari was just sitting by the bar sipping on her drink thinking about the shitty day she had. She was in no hurry to finish her drink as Tae was going to come home late anyways and had no energy to dance. She was trying to come up on how to properly apologise to her boyfriend.

She flinched when she felt someone touching her waist from behind. She stood up to see a drunk man in his late thirties.
"Excuse me, don't touch me."

At that the drunk man didn't comply but instead moved his hand and grabbed her ass. Ari moved away quickly, " I'm warning you, don't make me repeat myself."

But turns out the man was not at all listening still making move towards her and that's when all the shit goes down.
