29. YOU ARE NEXT

Truth!

The worst part of truth is that its existence is ruthless. It shows a mirror to the one who is seeking it but never cares about the damage it brings upon the person. Truth craves for freedom, rebelling to spread its wings. It makes a person anxious. If it is not found, the man search for it like a lost child. And when it is deliberately hunted down, he curses the truth for being bitter.

So who is at fault? The truth? Or the seeker?

Apparently no one!

It is the right for both of them to exist and its their fate to vandalize the other. The man manipulate the truth for his own good and the truth torment the man to keep it's head above the water.

They sail in the same boat.

Separate.... But together!

Hoseok too was fighting with the truth. What he saw in the woods last night created a big hole in his chest. A hole that was internally bleeding and the pain made him nauseous.

He could never imagine to see the one person he trusted and respected so much to be a part of the controversy being plotted against him. Watching JiAh with the man who tried to kill him in the dead of the night was as painful as it could have been watching Yoongi try to kill him.

He cannot understand whether to be relieved or sad. It was a loss for him either way.

"My Lord!" One of the official sitting at the farthest corner of the main hall spoke. All the other officials looked at him, mentally thanking him to break the unending silence, "what should we do next? The man we were chasing is supposedly out of reach now and finding him would be next to impossible."

"Not to mention, the involvement of the Portal woman is undeniable. We all saw her with our own eyes." Another official sitting beside Namjoon said.

"I must agree that the situation is intricate." Hoseok finally spoke, "I seek for advice among you people. Please guide me what I should do in this condition."

"I apologize for the interruption My Lord, but I think that the woman should be arrested right away." The head Chaplain demanded.

People in the court starting mumbling. Many of them agreed with the idea of taking JiAh into custody as now she was seen as a threat to the emperor's life. But some of them still believed that taking such a hasty step can cause damage in the near future and they should think for all the angles before making a decision.

"I think arresting someone without proper investigation is absurd. We should atleast speak to the Army General Min Yoongi before taking such a step. He is her escort and he has the right to know." The priest of the town hall suggested.

Before anyone else could put forward any other idea, Namjoon cut off everyone as he spoke, "Respected fellow officials, I understand your concern for the Army General but I should cast some light on the new relationship that had developed between Min Yoongi and that Portal woman and not to mention his revolting affinity towards her. I'm certain that everyone gathered here are perceptive enough to understand that young affection knows no bounds, and no matter how wicked that woman is, Min Yoongi would never let her get arrested." He turned towards Hoseok, his voice firm and his expression persuasive, "Therefore My Lord, I demand that Kang JiAh should be arrested and General Min Yoongi be given a restriction order to forbid him from interfering in this case."

A sudden erupt of whispers flooded the Main hall. Hoseok still had his mind pacing back and forth between wrong and right. He knew the suggestion was logical and straightforward but his conscious was running daggers through his chest.

Before Hoseok could speak, or before anyone else could speak, a guard came bursting through the main hall gate straight into the official meeting. Everyone was startled looking at the sudden intrusion. The man started panting, catching heavy breaths as he stood in the middle of the main hall. He looked terrified as if he ran miles just to reach the hall.
