i love your eyes
they coax hope like some reminder
even as the fire dies from the inside
they don't shy away from risks and dangers
they never try to lose their embersyour eyes
they shed tears of exhaustion
it floods my chest and it hurts
i can never cry the way you do
the ducts are shut tight with nails and screwsyoung and naive
ready to take on the world
darling you don't know half of it
you never knew even a quarter
but your eyes that coax hope say otherwise
like a thirst unable to be quenched
they drag you to the golden prize
darling you're stronger than everi love your eyes
for they brighten everyone's lives
they hold so much love and happiness
even in the most depressing of times
and i wish they were mineyour eyes
like manic pixie dream girls
carry ignorance at times
innocence is never the word
you think everyone should be free all the timeyoung and naive
ready to take on the world
darling you don't know half of it
you never knew even a quarter
but your eyes that coax hope say otherwise
like a thirst unable to be quenched
they drag you to the golden prize
darling you're stronger than ever
