Layla was not happy that our date was cut short. I explained that he was homophobic and then she got quiet. Then she began preparing another date to set me up with.
Now I'm walking into work at the CCPD two days later and see Barry and Joe walk in another room with Eddie. "Guys, what happened?"
Barry struggles to speak- whether it's in anger or worry, I don't know yet. "Caitlin."
"Caitlin.."I prompt then stop when I turn my attention to the screen up ahead.
Caitlin and two men appear. She's struggling to break free of the other man's tight grip. "Greetings, citizens of Central City. I am Leonard Snart, but you can call me Cold."
I stare in horror at the man's face, not even able to make a sound.
"I'm gonna make this very simple for everyone. That red streak you're hearing whispers about, the one mysteriously saving people these past few months... Well surprise. He's real. He calls himself The Flash. Porter and Main. Tonight. Sundown. Come out, come out, wherever you are, Flash. Show the whole world you're real. Or this woman dies."
"Oh my God," I mutter while trying not to collapse.
"No, don't come for me, stay away!" Caitlin screams. The man in the back takes her away and the screen goes blank.
Barry and Joe cast each other a look.
"You guys have to save her," I plead.
"We will." Joe gives Barry one more secret code-like look and leaves.
Sundown comes and Joe is leaving with Cisco from the police station to rescue Caitlin when I corner the two. "I'm going with you."
"No way- it's too dangerous."
"Caitlin is my friend too, and I want to help."
"Barry would like to see your pretty face should you actually come back, Evie."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Cisco shakes his head and takes my arm, dragging me to the elevator. "Whatever, we're wasting time. Act now, questions later."
"Good, because I've got a lot of questions."
The three of us slide in the car and arrive at the warehouses within minutes.
Cisco views the tracker. "Starting from Caitlin's car, I pieced together surveillance footage that led us to his general area."
"There's over a dozen warehouses here," Joe says.
"Yeah, but only one of them has had the heat on the last three nights. And I'm betting Mick Rory likes it hot."
I peer at his device and point at one of the warehouses. "That one."
"Okay then. Stay behind me," Joe orders. We fall behind Joe, following him into the warehouse I'd pointed at.
"Caitlin," Cisco calls quietly.
"Mmf!"
"Caitlin, is that you?"
"Mm mm! Mrrf mmph!" she manages, repeating it multiple times.
"Caitlin, we need to get you out of here-" Cisco runs up the steps.
I suddenly know what she means. "Cisco, don't!"
"CISCO! DOWN!" Joe yanks them both out of the platform while Cisco falls the other way.
I gently pull him up so he can stabilize his balance while gripping the staircase bar. "Damn, you okay?" He responds with a weak nod.
