Wells sits back in his wheelchair and sprays the air with freshener. He ties a solid air freshener stick to the end of the bed and rolls out. He closes the door and locks it. He writes a note on the door that says DO NOT DISTURB UNLESS YOU WANT A BLACK EYE. - E

Believable? Yes, he thinks so.

He pretends to work on strengthening the security at STAR Labs when really he's checking the cameras for any suspicious activity anywhere in the city.

"Doctor Wells?" Barry calls out from the elevator. He runs over to Wells. "Um, is Evie sleeping right now?"

"As a matter of fact, she is," Wells frowns. "Caitlin had told her to get some rest and she fell right asleep. She told me not to bother her and even made me write a sign on the door."

"Ha. Um, I guess I had better go then.. I have to protect Iris. Keep an eye on her, and make sure she knows I came by."

"I'll watch over her, Barry. Don't worry."

He smiles. "Thanks. Have a good night."

"You too, Barry."

"Oh, and tell Evie when she wakes up that I'll talk to Mason tomorrow."

"I'll make sure the message gets through to her, Mr. Allen."

He smirks as Barry leaves.

Wells walks over to check on the body. She's much paler now, with sunken cheeks. But he notices that the cuts from just hours ago are nothing but white scars. He checks the legs, still badly burned. But they aren't as charred and blackened as two hours ago. How..

Ugh, never mind. He fishes out Carnwennan from her purse and lets the blade fall into the hole in her chest. The blood clings to the blade. He holds out her hand and wraps it around the handle. He places her hand beside her hip then walks out to sit back on the chair and resume surveillance.

Deep into the night Cisco enters.

"Cisco! What are you doing here?"

Cisco comes in and out, ignoring Wells, frantically pacing the lab and then heading downstairs. It's making Wells agitated each time he hears the elevator ding!

"Cisco. Are you alright?" he inquires, looking up at him.

"Huh, what? Oh yeah, I'm totally fine." Where's the flashdrive that Evie was gonna give to me? Cisco thinks to himself. He squints at a piece of paper a few feet away that's settled on a distant table. "Hey, Doctor Wells, why are the shades closed and it's all dark in Evie's room?"

"Hm. Evie did say she wanted to get her beauty rest or something."

Wells can see Cisco walking slowly towards the door. He blocks it with his arm before he can reach the handle to find it locked. "I wouldn't advise you to go in there. It's pretty late at night and I don't think you want to get a black eye."

"No, I guess not," Cisco forces a laugh and turns the other way. "I think I'll just work on improving Carnie for Evie so she'll wake up to a nice present."

"That sounds like a great plan, Cisco. You should start working on it."

"Yup."

Carnie? Him too? Wells curls his lip. Cisco and Evie are terrible at creating names.

At this time, Cisco is freaking out in his head. He's nervous, being around Wells.

He forces himself to concentrate on enhancing Carnwennan. Hm. More ions to disrupt the Firestorm matrix. Or anything requiring heat for that matter.

Meanwhile Wells is becoming impatient. He's desperate for Cisco to leave to he can remove Evelyn's body and dispose of it quickly. Maybe replace it with a dummy. Something.

Either way, no one can know what happened to her.

The next day Layla calls Evie's phone a few times. It's always sent straight to voicemail.

She logs into Evie's computer (her password is renascar. Layla finds it weird that she would name something like that).

She Skype's her mother, lets her know what happened. They're both sobbing and blubbering out "I wish" to each other.

"I'm going back to Central City and seeing her."

"No! Her doctor said that she couldn't have patients at this time," Layla protests.

"Who is her doctor?" her mother demands.

"Uh... Something Snow. I don't remember. But you need to stay home and take care of Uncle Everard. She doesn't need more stress with you coming here," Layla says then bites her lip. That came out slightly harsh.

Lucinda sighs. "I guess so. Just give my best to her when you see her again, alright?"

"Yup. She'll be okay, don't worry." She ends the call and shuts down the computer.

I need to take a breather, Layla thinks to herself. Maybe she should go to get coffee and walk by the waterfront. Clear her mind a bit.

She drives to Jitters then after getting coffee walks to the south side of the waterfront.

Then she hears the sounds of thunder. "What the f-"

The winds pick up. The current gets stronger, and so do the force of the tides. The south side is nearly emptied out except for a couple near the dock.

It's not as bad as the regret she felt deep inside for Evie. If she had just-

No. She can't be thinking about it at a time like this.

Instead she focuses on her cup of coffee and the couple talking to each other.

How cute.

She gets closer and continues drinking as the two talk.

Then the man becomes familiar. He looks a bit like.. Barry.

So that must be Evie then. She peers closer and sees the girl. Nope, definitely not her. What were the two doing?

She inches even closer and pretends to observe the stains around the cup when she looks up and see the two's lips meet.

Layla nearly spits out her drink and holds on to the cup as not to drop it. She fumbles for her phone and calls Evie. Of course it's on voice mail. "Evie, I have to talk to you now. It's about Barry." She looks up at Barry and yells, "What are you two doing?" Then after a brief moment adds, "There's a storm coming, we need to find shelter!"

Barry does a double take then ignores Layla. Rude.

He backs up from the girl and then Layla sees flashes of red.

Oh dear lord, would this day get any worse? Barry's the Flash.

Layla promptly faints.
