Jazariah’s POV
10:00am
The day started off somewhat normal, one could even consider it as good since my beauty sleep was not rudely interrupted by my alarm that was set three years back.
Thank God.
I admired the beautiful scenery from the kitchen window as I entered. The clouds danced around the azore sky which brought me into overthinking about the creation of this world, an exciting topic for my mind to explore but the worms fighting in my stomach thought differently. My early morning reflections were always weird because I knew most answers to the questions I asked myself daily were listed in the Bible but I still couldn’t bring myself to understand it.
As a tuff head gyal.
“Wah the difference between Jesus and God? Me know seh one a the father and one a the son but if a Jesus create the world, weh God do? Cause Jesus born from God suh Jesus nuh muss come see the world already. Me nuh understand!” I said with a slight giggle after realizing I was deep into a conversation with myself.
I poured the pulp free orange juice concentrate into a glass filled with cubed ice and my actions were interrupted by an incoming call.
I slightly smiled.
“Morning dadz.” I started
“How’s everything at home Jazariah? Are you feeling well? Ever since you left home I have to do the checking up, you can call me whenever you know?” He said at once.
“Bwoy oh bwoy, yuh ask so much question inna one guh, yuh couldn’t gimmi time fi answer missa investigator? Everything alright man, me have life suh me nah complain. Me jus a tek it one day at a time. By the way daddy, yah gwan like we nuh see each other every week. Kool nuh man." I responded which drifted us both into laughter.
“As much as I hate this watered down talking of yours, you never seize to amaze me. Always giving me a reason to smile these days. Anyways, since you said everything is fine, have a productive day and make sure you get something sensible to eat. I’m heading back to work. Oh, and remember to wish your cousin Happy birthday.” My father said finishing up our morning conversation.
"Eh?" I repeated confused.
"Jazariah, it's Jermaine’s birthday." He said
Pussyclaat.
I was never good with birthday's but I would atleast think my brain would decide to function for the important ones. Not bothering to waste my credit, I grabbed some cash from the locker, got in my car and drove to his house.
"Bombah bredda, uno anuh big people?" I asked after entering the messy house. I folded my lips tightly to hold the laughter in as a flour covered Jermaine emerged.
"Why you look suh boss?" I asked faking my cluelessness.
He stopped, looked at me and shook his head.
" A flour. " He said picking and brushing some out of his hair while turning his back.
Sensing the glorious opportunity, I emptied the remaining contents from my water bottle on his head. His warm body jumped instinctively as the cold water trailed down the line on his back, giving me the chance to place his neck in a chokehold.
"One up pon di pussy dem Jermaine." I said and got down.
"Jazariah, yuh fi bill more while eno. A suh yuh ramp wid the gyal dem a prison? Thanks mon.” Jermaine said while walking off.
“Wull dis yute, guh buy some pussy. Yuh back greasy like.” I blurted out
“Yuh miss 3 years eno, me fi get more dan dat, but thanks. The man dem a touch road tonight yere and me a come fi yuh at 10. Nuh fail me dawg.” He said without looking at the money I han.
I finished up the conversation with him and headed back home to the king size bed that was awaiting me.
9:25 pm
Me a tek me time and bathe Jermaine affi wait.
Full time mi stop dem fuckry yah eno.
After the warm, relaxing shower I dried myself and my hair while taking in every bit of myself in the mirror. My broad hips, and small waist fell in line perfectly and my breast sat upright on my chest.
Me could a sell dem yah to Dr. Miami
After searching the closet I found the perfect outfit for the night. I was fitted in a white graphic tee, black ripped jeans and my favorite, the bank robbers. I parted my hair to the side and slicked it back, letting my natural curls hang down my mid back. Taking in one last look for the road I sat on my phone and waited for the arrival of Jermaine who was apparently late by 15 minutes.
The horn blowed and I made my way down the steps and headed directly to the car where a load of Jermaine’s friends sat.
“Night” I said as soon as I entered.
Fifteen minutes in, while strolling on the highway the vehicle became foggy due to the high emissions of marijuana smoke and to make matters even worse the bass boosted speakers competed with the raspy singing coming from the car load of men as they shouted the lyrics of the dancehall song.
Me cya hear me ears.
“Yow, uno wine dung the window dem and let out the smoke likkle nuh, dem boy deh always deh near yasso eno.” I said hoping he’d understand.
“How yuh coward suh? Cool down wid the smoking likkle though man dem, we ave di wull night ahead a we." He said and turned down the windows of the car allowing all the smoke to exit.
The foggy car was now clear and freshly scented and the music continued but at a lower volume so I informed Jermaine that he could turn back up the windows. Not a soul was in sight and the three percent tinted windows made the night even darker.
And as those words slipped through my mouth flickering blue lights brightened the car. We all looked on each other, some out of fear, the rest feeling thrilled as their dose of weed kicked in.
"Jah know star." I saw grinning.
The car halted to a stop and an officer made his way to the window.
" Good night Officer. " Jermaine said.
"Uno realize seh uno a guh 160 in a 40 zone? " He said taking out his ticket book.
"I-" Jermaine started but I interrupted turning down my window.
"Officer, we late fi mi grandmada set up, pon har death bed she did wish dat we perform sumn fi har but you see we kinda did affi delay it cuz mi mada drop down and gone a hospital ina di evening ya. " I said faking sadness, looking down.
"Mi know dem way deh, you see mi have a sister...." He said trailing off into his lifestory. Ultimately after some persuasion he let us off with a warning.
"Alright keep safe, my condolences again." He said and we responded and drove off.
"Wat a gyal wicked and lie, mighty God" one of Jermaine’s friends said.
The warning we had just received prompted everyone to calm down before we got our selves into more trouble seeing that the night hadn't even started.
