"Ooh, Jasmine has a friend over.", the little creature who had burst into my room said.

"Oh Rose!", I sort of squeaked in a mixture of surprise and panic. I began chewing on my lower lip and fumbling with my fingers, "He is a.. friend. Rose, meet N..Nitor and Nitor, this is Rose, my friend."

Nitor sensed the panic in the air, came close to me and whispered in my ear, "You can't really be scared of a mini-earthling, can you?". The words mini- earthling caused me to giggle.

Suddenly, Rose started laughing so bad that she almost lost her balance and even worse for me, it looked like she heard the joke. "His name is Nitor? That is such a funny name because it rhymes with" she paused to take a breath and continued "Wait... what does your name rhyme with?" and then she went on and on with her silly but kind of funny rant, rhyming his name with random words like biter.

I chuckled and shook my head, as my gaze fell on the garden outside my window. I let out a low whistle as I remembered that I had to water the plants. "Um, can you just wait for some time? I have a chore to do." "Sure.", he said with a smile at Rose who was tugging his shirt, begging him to play pretend with her.

XXXXXXXXXX

It was fifteen minutes since I left them to play Lego or whatever they were doing right now. "Ow! Watch it, Rose.", I winced in pain and rubbed my knee.

"Oopsy- daisy! I'm so sorry, Jasmine."

"It is alright but be careful. I don't want you getting hurt.", I said, ruffling her short hair.

Her expression remained blank, "Sorry for that too..", she said and pointed to my room.

Noooo! There were too many important things in my room and I was trying my best to not get angry at Rose.

I swallowed a lump in my throat and asked, "Sorry about what, Rose?"

She had her hands crossed behind her and she was playing with her feet, " I broke your globe accidentally."

My mouth went dry and a surge of panic shot through me.

"The blue one?" I asked hoping the answer would be no.

She started nodding her head nervously, I bent down and and shook her trying to get her to accept that this was all a joke.

This was her cue to start sobbing. I ignored her and ran upstairs to my room. It is confirmed that I am an idiot. Who leaves a 3 year old with an alien in a room, trusting nothing to go wrong?

That's right. Me.
