"It's time to move", Logo said as he stood up. I took it as my cue to do the same and followed him. Just as we bent and walked out of the room with the short door, there was a figure blocking out the only source of bright light that was coming from the elevator.
"Hey Mali! What are you doing here?", Logo said cheerfully, his eyes lighting up as she pulled him into a hug and then turning to Luca to do the same, she said, "Oh, I was just checking on you guys! Torva told me that you two hadn't yet delivered the chips. What was holding you up?"
Petite, evenly tanned skin, curvaceous and most of all, stunningly beautiful. Taller than me, shorter than the twins. She looked nothing short of a Greek goddess. She wore a black body suit that hugged her figure, but it didn't have any blue details like the twins' suits. And here I was, my hair in the same messy bun from two days and my mouth hanging open, wondering how the person standing in front of me looked so perfect. I had the strange feeling that I was totally being ignored and treated as if I was invisible. I tried to look a bit respectable, brushed my baby hairs in a failed attempt to stop them from sticking up and stood up straighter.
"Well, we..." Luca's voice strayed off, making eye contact with Mali. I know they are doing the stupid mind communication thing again. Ugh, this was annoying! She sympathetically nodded at them with pursed lips and I could feel color creeping up my neck, onto my cheeks. It was like they considered me some kind of a chore, a burden!
As I stared determinedly at the floor, she said, her hand outstretched, as if to shake my hand, "Hi! I'm Malitia, you can call me Mali. What's your name?"
I replied "Jasmine", my voice was lower than I expected. I cleared my throat to hide my embarrassment. She gave me a small smile. Even though there were no evident signs, it felt like she was treating me like a baby.
"I have to get going. You guys deposit the chips as soon as possible and I'll tell Torva that everything's all right. But don't be too late, you know no one likes it when she's angry", she added with a smirk and walked away with the best posture possible.
"Torva and Mali are the only two who Creatrix trusts most. They make sure everything is in place. Everything."
I nodded and walked with them to the elevator. Logo stood aside to let me enter first but Luca, now holding the boxes in a cylindrical transparent container, walked right past me and stood on the elevator with a blank face.
Wow, rude much?
I walked in quietly, trying to recall if I had done anything to seriously piss him off. Why did he hate me so much? Maybe he was naturally rude and I was over thinking the situation as usual. I was woken up from my thoughts when Logo asked me to get off the elevator.
"Because we have much more important work than babysitting a human, we have drop these off before we send you home", Luca said, referring to the boxes in the container he was holding.
"You don't have any reason to behave like that, Luca", Logo said, stepping in front of me, his voice slightly higher.
They had a glaring contest for about half a minute and judging from their change of expressions every second, it seemed like they were putting up a furious battle of words. In their mind.
Then Luca turned and walked away like an angry girl. I bet if he had long hair it would have flipped so high when he turned that it would have appeared as if they were standing on their ends because of a case of extreme static.
I followed the twins into a much more positively ambient room than the Database level where the walls on the sides had desks facing each other with an office chair behind both. But I was stunned when I saw straight ahead at the wall in front of me. There was a huge, high and majestic looking throne like seat for one. It was completely black with intricate detailed carving all over it. At the top, the highest point of the throne, there was a blue flame emblem that looked so mesmerizing against the pristine white of the room's walls, it looked as if it was actually moving.
