Five bodies crowded onto the rooftop.

Chae-Young stayed silent.

It must be a mistake. Chae-Young thought, she got up and went to leave.

But they slammed the door closed, causing Chae-Young to step back confused.

"Excuse me, can I get through pleas-"

"Give me your coat"

"Wha-"

"I said give me your coat"

Chae-Young gulped as a girl approached her. The girl started to unzip the coat but Chae-Young pushed her away. The girl laughed and walked towards her. She slap Chae-Young hard across the face, the boys burst out laughing and pointing at Chae-Young.

Chae-Young grips her burning cheek.

"That felt good, okay you're free to leave now!" The girl moved to the side creating a pathway for Chae-Young.

The boys looked at her confused.

Chae-Young sniffed then slowly paced forward. The girl threw her leg out tripping Chae-Young up.

Chae-Young's tights split and her knee began to bleed.

They stole her coat and the girl out it over her fleece.

The boys left cheering the girl on.

"Oh and monster girl, you were never pretty even before that ugly scar of yours"

She cackled and left Chae-Young in a heap on the snowy floor.

Chae-Young sat there for a few minutes holding back tears. The snow turned a maroon red around her legs. She sighed and got ready to leave, the knee was hurting her but she was cold and didn't want to stay on the rooftop any longer.

Chae-Young heaved herself up and reached for the handle.

Rattle rattle.

Confused, Chae-Young tried the door again.

Rattle rattle.

"Have they locked it..?"

Chae-Young started to panic, she couldn't contact anyone as her phone was in her bag which happened to be in her locker.

She stared to scream for help.

But no one heard.

Of course they didn't, she was two floors away from any classrooms. The cafeteria was below her but she figured it would be loud and swarming with people.

Chae-Young sighed rubbing her arms trying to warm up.

HEESEUNG POV :

After class I couldn't find Chae-Young, I figured she was using the bathroom or something. I decided to buy her some strawberry milk as I often see her drinking it.

I reached the canteen, it was swarming with loud kids. I just waited in line for my turn to be served.

Should I get her noodles?

No Heeseung you don't even know if she likes them.

Everyone likes noodles though, right?

"Please can I have two strawberry milks and some pot noodles"

After the canteen lady gave me the goods, I went to search for Chae-Young again. Still nothing. I started to get worried and went to medical to see if she was there but no.. no signs of her anywhere.

Once I was about to leave the canteen I bumped into someone.

"Sorry" I say quickly bowing. I don't look up at who it is.

Suddenly the same person grabbed my shoulder, I looked up from the ground to see Taewoo. He looked worried aswell.

"Have you seen Chae-Young" we both say in union.

"I was supposed to meet with her, but she didn't turn up" Taewoo says anxiously.

I think of anywhere she might go. Then we split up to try and find her. I check the canteen, the bike racks, the medical room once more. I had looked everywhere but no sign. I then see Taewoo who was pacing up and down the hallways.

"Why don't we wait till class, she'll show up. I'm sure she's in the ladies or something" I say, but I wasn't sure.

Taewoo nodded and we parted our ways.

——————————————

It was last lesson, physics. I sat behind where Chae-Young usually sits, I stare at her seat amd glance at the door every now and then. But she still wasn't there five minutes in.

I didn't stress, I trusted her and that she would turn up late.

The teacher began to take the register.

"Byung-Ho"

"Here"

"Seo-Hyun"

"Yes sir"

"Heeseung"

"Present sir"

"Chae-Young"

...

"Chae-Young?" The teachers head raises scanning the classroom.

I hear a couple of kids laugh.

I glance at them confused.

"Has anyone seen Chae-Young?"

A girl raises her hand. "Maybe she's skipping school, sir"

She and some other boys giggle.

I turn my full body to face them, I see Taewoo glaring at them.

The teacher marks her as late for the moment.

——————————————

The whole lesson my legs were shaking and I couldn't stop taping my pen, I was anxious where Chae-Young could be.

It's not like her to skip class.

I watch as the clock strikes 4:30pm.

I rush out and I stop mid way down the hallway.

I decide to call Chae-Young as none of my texts were delivering.

I raise my phone to my ear. It started to ring.

Ring ring.

I turn towards a locker as I hear a phone going off.

It was her locker.

I immediately panic. Where had she gone.

I saw Taewoo trudge out of the classroom.

"Yah, Taewoo"" I shout for him, he lifts his head.

"Is there a cellar or a rooftop in this school?"

Taewoo stops to think. His head suddenly lifts up, eyes wide open.

He drops all his things and starts to run.

I watch him confused but run after him as I suspect he might know where she may be.

I follow him up winding stairs and long corridors only to reach a metal door. It looked like a rooftop.
