Chapter 9

I set up some books and my favorite study snacks for me and Jasons study session.
"Your really smart, You don't even need me to help you"
"I know" he smiled
"Then why-"
"I wanted to hang out with you"
"I've seen you everyday this week" I laughed to myself
"Ok, then its always good to double check that I know what I'm talking about in chemistry"
"Woah I see how it is, you're dating me to get free tutor"
"So we're dating now, thats what this is" as soon as he said that my I felt my cheeks burn and turn pink and I felt like I was going to puke.
"no I- I didn't mean like-"
"Sara" he said smiling trying to hold in his laughter
"Y-yes" I replied
"Do you want to be my girlfriend"
"I'd love that" I smiled then he cupped my face in his hands and kissed me "thats was so cringy by the way" I laughed as he tackled me onto my bed and continued to kiss me. He ended up staying the night but not like that, he just slept over. In fact he slept on the opposite side of the bed.

When I woke up I checked the watch next to my bed.
"Shit....Jason wake up we're late" I groaned shaking Jasons leg
"What" he mumbled
"We're late" I said even louder this time while grabbing my uniform and getting dressed, I found one of Wills Uniforms from when he stayed the night because his friends were throwing a party and he had to re-take a regent.
"Its fine" I heard him mumble rolling onto his other side.
"C'mon you big baby" I said grabbing his hands and pulling him up towards me.

After Jason was dressed I kissed him on the cheek and we both went our separate ways, I ran as fast as I could to history and thank god I did because I made it just in time.
I sat down beside Will who was already there, text book open and everything.
"Hey, why are you late" Will asked clearly seeing my under eye bags
"I slept through my alarms" I groaned out of breath from running
"Did you happen to see Jason while running through the halls"
"What- no why would I"
"He never came back last night and this morning he was gone too, you two seem to be friendly so I thought you'd know"
"Nope sorry, don't know a thing" I laughed while my voice cracked a bit
"Ok then" he said while taking out his pencil and a sheet of paper
"And even if I did- Wich I dont. I would probably think he just like....came back super late last night and just left early, for all we know he's at his class right now" I said still a little out of breath
"Your probably right, I'm worrying for nothing" he smiled at me then looked back down at his paper and began to write.

After school I found a quiet bench at the end of campus and called Ivy, I cant believe its been this long and I haven't spoken to her once. So much has happened I wish I could hug her and curl up in the sheets of my bed while we watch Dance Moms and she would gossip all about high school, she described it as a place where you can be anything and it hasn't quite lived up to its expectations.
I scrolled down and found Ivy's contact and hit the FaceTime button, it was about 1pm in New York so I was crossing my fingers that she would pick up
"Hiii!" I heard her scratchy muffled voice over the phone
"Hi!, I missed you so much" I said loud enough for her to hear me
"I miss you too, so what's the occasion your calling me"
"Well, there's a lot I have to catch you up on"
I talked to her for over an hour catching her up on everything that has happened since New Years, all the way from Will forgiving me to everything hat happened with Jason.
"So let me get this straight, you said no to Matt because of Will but now your dating Jason behind both of their backs"
"When you say it, it sounds really bad"
"Well I wouldn't say really bad just bad" she said climbing into her desk chair and opening her shades to the sun which was nice considering I was sitting in the dark alone in the middle of winter, freezing.
"I wasn't really thinking, it just happened"
"So when do I get to meet this mysterious Jason"
"Uhm, never" I laughed and heard trees shifting behind me "hold on" I said putting my phone facing down on my lap.
"Who's there" I shouted
"Sorry I scared you" Will said walking on the path behind the bushes
"It was just Will" I roll my eyes picking my phone up to show Ivy Will walking towards me from behind
"Hey there mr. William, what do I owe the pleasure" Ivy said over the phone mocking a British accent.
"Just wanted to talk to Sara"
"Oh I'm very sorry mr. William I'll leave you two" she continued
"Shut up" he laughed
"I'll speak to you soon sis, keep me updated" Ivy screamed over the phone little too loud
"I will!" I said hanging up the phone and looking back at Will.
"Keep you updated on what?" He looked at me confused "please don't tell me we're having another surprise sibling prank war"
"Haha I wish, just some project for school"
"Oh cool" he said studying me
"So what'd you want"
"Nothing specific I just heard you talking and theres no gate on this side of campus, I wanted to make sure you were okay"
"Aww, you actually care about me"
"Can you not be annoying for one second" he said getting up and walking away, I got up and began to chase him, poking at his side.
"Is this annoying, how about this" I began to poke his cheek.
"last one back to school is a rotten egg" I heard him scream as he Launched himself forward and I began to run as fast as my feet would take me, and I felt alive again.

The next day was pretty normal, I went to class got assigned work and everything was calm. I was talking to Will during lunch and he mentioned that Jason was till missing, I had tried not to get worried so I just called him but when he didn't answer I decided to leave him a few messages, ok maybe more than a few. But I'm his girlfriend I have a right to be worried, and that may or not have been one the things I texted him.
A day went by and I had still not heard anything back from him I thought it wouldn't hurt to go to Will and ask what was going on.
He said he was trying to find out but he came back a few hours later saying that Jason just went to visit his father and only told Matt and Elijah.

It had been two days and Jason still wasn't back from his fathers and I got to the point where I decided to get his fathers Adress and go check on him.
My Uber had drove up to a mansion an hour away from our school, we stopped at the gates and the bell ringed.
"Who's there" I heard a muffled voice say
"Hi I'm uh- Sara, a friend of Jasons" I said loud enough for the man to hear me
"Oh I see" he replied.
I heard an even louder buzzing sound and then the two gates opened, my uber dropped me off at the gates and I walked up to the house.
After a minute of walking I got to the door and knocked as hard as I could since there was no bell, after 3 minutes of knocking a old slender man answered the door. His hair was dark grey and his eyelid sagged as if he hasn't slept in years.
"I tired to get Mr. Jason out of bed but he wouldn't move, i'll show you to his room" the tired man said
I followed him up the twirled staircase and past the what felt like thousands of rooms with the same carved wooden figure on the door.
The man stopped at one of the doors and knocked once.
"What" I heard the muffled voice of Jason scream through the door
"You have a guest" he said opening the door then turning to me "you may go in now" he slowly opened the door for me as I walked in.
Jason was laying in his bed with what must have been 10 blankets all around him yet he wasn't using any of them, he looked up at me and only when he did I saw the circles under his eyes.
"Sara" he said quickly sitting up and looking at me "w-what are you doing here" he said running across the room grabbing a T-Shirt and slipping it over his head.
"You've been missing for 4 days, I was worried" I said walking closer to him "then Will told me you were by your fathers and I didn't want to bother you but you were missing a lot of school and then teachers kept asking where you were and I-" I stop taking a huge deep breath but this time Jasons walking closer to me "I miss you" I said shaking my words.
"I miss you to" he said smiling then kissing me on the forehead before pulling me into a hug, I think that was the tightest I've ever hugged someone.
"I haven't been doing the best lately" he paused leading me to sit at the edge of his bed "whenever this happens I usually just crash by my parents until I- bounce back"
"That totally makes sense, sorry for showing up here so unannounced"
"You shouldn't be sorry for caring about someone"
"Sorry" I whispered looking at him and smiling
"Im glad your here" he said returning the smile
"Me too"
The rest of the day we sat there on his bed huddled together and talking, I was updating him about school and every time I mentioned a new subject he mentioned how we were going to need another study date.
