Third Person POV

Bruce and Tony were in the lab conducting tests of Loki's staff. Bruce was looking at a monitor of the staff as he scanned. "The gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig's notes on the Tesseract. But it's going to take weeks to process." Bruce told Tony, who was across the room doing tests of his own. "If we bypass their mainframe and direct route to the Homer cluster we can clock this at around 600 teraflops."

Bruce chuckled. "All I packed was a toothbrush." Tony laughed and walked over to Banner. "You know, you should come by Stark Tower sometime. Top ten floors, All R&D. You'd love it. It's Candy Land." "Thanks, but the last time I was in New York, I kind of broke Harlem." Bruce told the billionaire.

"Well, I promise a stress-free environment. No tension, no surprises." Tony shocked Bruce with a tool, causing Bruce to grunt. "Hey." Steve heard the commotion and walked into the lab. "Are you nuts?" He asked Tony.

Tony turned to the super soldier. "Jury's out. You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz, bongo drums, huge bag of weed?" Steve was floored at Tony's questions towards the gamma scientist. "Is everything a joke to you?" Tony pointed tthe tool at him. "Funny things are."

"Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isn't funny," Steve then looked to Banner. "No offense, Doc." "I-It's alright, I wouldn't have come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things." Tony pointed to Bruce as he walked. "You're tiptoeing, big man. You need to strut." "And you need to focus on the problem, Mr. Stark." Steve told Tony.

Tony looked to Steve. "Do you think I'm not? Why did Fury call us in? Why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables." Steve stared at the Iron Man. "You think Fury's hiding something?" "He's a spy. Captain, he's THE spy. His secrets have secrets." Tony popped a blueberry in his mouth from the bag in his hand before gesturing to Bruce. "It's bugging him, too, isn't it?"

Bruce stammered unsure of what to do with the attention on him. "Um. I just want to finish my work here, and-" "Doctor?" Steve interrupted Banner and easing the tension a little. Bruce looked around before taking off his glasses and taking a heavy breath. A warm light for all mankind. Loki's jab at Fury about the Cube." "I heard it." Steve said. "Well, I think that was meant for you." Bruce pointed to Tony.

Tony offered the bag of blueberries to Banner who took one. "Even if Barton didn't tell Loki about the tower, it was still all over the news." Steve raised and eyebrow. "Stark Tower? That big, ugly," He chose his words carefully when Tony looked at him. "building in New York?" "It's powered by an arc reactor, a self-sustaining energy source. That building will run itself for, what, a year?"

Tony shrugged his shoulder. "It's just the prototype. I'm kind of the only name in clean energy right now. That's what he's getting at." "So, why didn't SHIELD bring him in on the Tesseract project?. What are they doing in the energy business in the first place?" Banner asked, intrigued by SHIELD's secrecy.

Tony tilted his head. "I should probably look into that once my decryption program finishes breaking into all of SHIELD's secure files." Steve looked at him in confusion. "I'm sorry. Did you-" "JARVIS has been running it since I hit the bridge. In a few hours, I'll know every dirty secret SHIELD has ever tried to hide. Blueberry?" He gestured the bag for Cap to take on.

"Yet you're confused about why they didn't want you around." Steve stated. "An intelligence organization that fears intelligence? Historically, not awesome." "I think Loki's trying to wind us up. This is a man who means to start a war, and if we don't stay focused, he'll succeed. We have orders. We should follow them."

Tony looked to his hand which had blueberries in it before popping them in his mouth. "Following's not really my style." Steve stared at the playboy. "And you're all about style, aren't you?" Tony squinted his eyes. "Of the people in this room which one is, A, wearing a spangly outfit, B, not of use?"
