summary: Y/n is pregnant and her parents aren't there when she goes into labour

You were 9 months pregnant with your ex-boyfriend's baby. when he found out he didn't take it very well, he left. when you told her parent Jo was mad but sportive Alex, on the other hand, was furious he didn't talk to you for a week straight until he realised how great this could be. Jo and Alex were very helpful throughout Y/n pregnancy.
"hey honey ready for your last ultrasound," Jo says grabbing her keys "I guess so, " Y/n says looking down at her baby. Y/n and Jo get into the car and drive to the hospital. they walk in and make their way to the ob-gyn to see carina "hey Y/n you ready" carina says "yep" Y/n carina and Jo walk into the exam room. carina lays you down on the bed, you lift your shirt so she can do the ultrasound. "Ok Y/n everything looks good so you should be due around next week" "Ok thank you carina " you and make your way back to the car and make your way home
time skip 3 days later
it was around 530 in the morning your mom and dad had left for a work trip and you were on your own they were supposed to get back the next morning so you weren't too worried.
A few hours later
You were sitting on the couch watching a movie when you get this excruciating stomach ache you moan in pain it is only there for around 1 minute but it was very painful. you decided to call your mom to see what she thinks, "Hey mom" "Hey hon everything ok?" she asks you "uh not really" "what's wrong are you ok?" Jo asks concerned for her daughter "I- " you scream in pain and drop your phone on the floor "Hey Hey Y/n can you hear me" she says "Mom! It Hurts!" you yell "I know baby I know just hold on ok me and your dad are on our way home" "Mom! " you continue to yell "hey Y/n breath it's ok to do you want us to call 911" your dad says through the phone "Call! Now!" "ok were calling we are only about 45 minutes away from the hospital ok" "Call now!" you yell just after that the pain calms down "mom have you called yet" "no not yet we are about to" "the pain has gone down I I think I'll be ok to wait for you guys," you say "if you're in labour you'll have another one soon these could be contractions I'm calling" you hear your mom talking to the operator "Hey Y/n they are about 5 minutes away ok" "o-ok," you say. you stay on the phone till the paramedics get there.
knock knock
"paramedics" you get up and open the door "hi thanks for coming" "ok let's get you onto the gurney " you get on the gurney and they take you to the ambulance and start driving to Grey Sloan. you arrive around 10 minutes later. " Y/n Karev 17-year-old female 9 months pregnant experiencing abdominal pain and possible labour," the paramedics say as they walk me in "Y/n?" April says "hey April' you say, "Page Carina Deluca and Both Jo and Alex Karev," April says "Mom and dad are on their way they were on a work trip" April nods, "Y/n what's up," carina says looking at my chart "Let's get her upstairs and into a birth and labour room She's having contractions "WHAT!" you yell "No no no no no I I can't be my mom is not even here no I'm fine I'll just go home this baby is staying inside me" "Y/n you will be ok you can do thi-" "No! I can't I have no one here I can not do this" You start freaking out " Y/n this baby will not wait we need to get you upstairs now" she rushes you upstairs while you start tearing up. she wheels you in the room and gets you on the bed " ok so you are around 6 centimetres dilated so it should only be around an hour-long wait "thanks carina"
about 30 minutes later
"ok Y/n get ready to push," carina says "but my mom is not here yet" "I'm sorry but we have to do this now" "o-ok can I at-lest have someone in here" "who should I page" "Meredith grey" around 1 minute later she comes rushing in "hey Y/n what's wrong," Meredith asks "can you be in here my moms not here and I have no one" you cry "of course, she holds your hand and rubs your shoulder. "ok ready and push," carina says, your start pushing screaming in pain. you push for around 5 minutes. "I can't I its too much" you cry Meredith rubs your arm "It's ok only a few more minutes of pain you can do this Y/n"I'M HERE," Jo says running into the room "Mom!" you yell "oh baby I'm so sorry I couldn't be here" "I can't do it It's too much mom make it stop please!" you yell " come on sweetie 5 more minutes of pain for a lifetime of happiness," she says you nod, "ok 1 2 3 push," carina says you push as hard as you can until you hear cries. "oh baby she's here," jo says. "ok here you go" carina hands me my baby "oh sweetie she's beautiful," jo says "hey baby girl, "you say
45 minutes later
knock knock
"hey can I come in?" Alex asks "sure come on" jo whispers "She had a baby" Alex says as he looks at you sleeping "A baby girl," jo says "It's a girl?" "yep it's a girl" "I'm a grandpa and I'm 44" "I'm a grandma and I'm a grandma and I'm 39" "we are old," Alex says "We are"
Around an hour later you wake up "Hey sweetie" Alex says "I had a baby" "you did, do you have a name yet?" he says "yeah I do Brook Alex Karev" "Brook?" "Alex?" your parents ask "She is named after the 2 best and strongest people I know" "Oh sweetie," your dad says. you all hug looking over at the newest addition of the family.
AN: ok so I know the ages don't add up for jo to be 39 with a 17 and only have met Alex when she was 26 but I didn't want her to be too old Cause I felt the story ties in better if she was younger but anyway I hoped you enjoyed it and make sure to leave me requests.
