I was fostered by maya and carina 8 months ago, Maya had rescued me from my abusive foster parent a neighbour had called crisis one about a domestic dispute maya and vic were on the crisis one for the day and we just clicked. My birthparents had given me up when I was 3, I don't remember much of them just that they were loving as far as I could remember so i'm not really sure what went wrong. A couple of weeks ago we had revived a call from my social worker saying that my birth parent wanted custody of me. I didn't know what to think, maya, carina and I had never discused them adopting me. I wasn't even sure about if they wanted to adopt me. One other thing is my birth parents live in florida. If they get custoty Id have to move across the country with them leaving behind me friends and boyfriend. I'd also be leaving maya and carina. I really didn't want to leave them yet.
It was 10.30 pm on a Saturday night I had just gotten off the phone with my boyfriend dylan, I basically spent the entire hour we were on the phone crying to him about how scared I was that they would get custody of me. he tried to console me but nothing really worked so I hung up letting him know I was going to talk to maya and carina. I had finally gotten up the courage and knocked on their bedroom door. "come in bambina" I slowly open their door seeing carina looking up from her book and maya scrolling on her phone. "everything ok bella?" carina smiled.
"Yeah no, I'm alright, you know never mind it doesn't matter" I said backing out turning around walking away from their bedroom. I can't believe for a second I thought I was getting away with that, it was maya and carina as if they were going to let me just walk away from that.
"Hails, come back" I heard maya say from her room. I slowly walked back into their room standing at the doorway. "come over here." she said patting the middle of their large king size bed. I slowly made my way over to their bed settling in under the covers between the two woman. "why did you come in here? Not that we don't love having you in here with us its just in the 8 months you've been here you have never come in here after we have gone to bed."
"Its silly really"
"tell us whats on your mind" carina said grabbing onto my hand. I have her hand a reassuring squeeze, slowly taking in a deep breath trying to find the words I was looking for to tell them what was on my mind.
"I was just thinking about the call from my social worker, and whats going to happen. I would never want to rush you or make you guys feel awkward but I was just thinking how I really don't wanna move to Florida and how much I like staying here." I said looking down at my hand intertwined with carinas. I looked up at their faces only seeing straight expressions.
