Jily's sweet secret

In a few days it was spring break, and James couldn't wait.

Lily would be staying at Hogwarts, so he would be as well.
They were dating for a few months now and James had never felt happier.

His last class of the day just ended and he was walking through the corridors.

Sirius and Remus were having a heated conversation next to him, but James didn't join them, he was thinking about other things and he barely even noticed them shouting at each other. He didn't have to worry about that anyways, Moony and Padfoot were in discussion all the time, but they still made a perfect, loving couple.

They gave the Fat Lady the password and entered the common room.

There James saw her. Lily's pretty red hair was tucked behind her ears as she was making some homework.

Even though they were dating, James heart still lit up every time he saw his beautiful girlfriend.

He walked to the desk she was working at and gave her a hug from behind.
She smiled and kissed his cheek.

'Hi beautiful, what about you stop working for a moment and go for a walk with me?' James suggested.
'Sounds great, I really needed a break, actually.'

So James grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the chair.

As they left the common room again they heard Remus end their conversation.

'Okay, Sirius, you win. But still, what I said made way more sense!'

Lily gave James a confused look. 'What were they debating about?'
'Oh, just the usual. But they love each other way to much to make their conversations into a real fight.' He said with a laugh.
Lily smiled as well.

They reached the entrance hall and headed of to the greenhouses.

Just a little before they reached them, James turned right.
Lily was about to ask where they were going, but James shushed her down.

'You'll see in a moment. Just behind that tree.' And he pointed at a big tree about 7 meters ahead of them.
Lily's eyes lit up with curiosity. James couldn't wait to show her what he made, he just knew she would love it.

They walked past the tree and he stopped walking.

Next to him he heard Lily gasp and he saw her eyebrows raise.

Then her surprised expression turned into a big smile.

'You like it?' James asked, trying not to show how excited he was.
'James... I love it! I can't believe it...'

In front of them you could see a big heart, made of lily flowers. In the middle, sunflowers formed the words "I love you, Lily".

'Why did you do this? What if someone would find out?'
Typical Lily, to ask questions first, James thought. But maybe that was the thing he liked about her so much.

'Because I love you Lily. I don't care if someone finds out, as long as you're happy with it.' James said.

'Oh James. Of course I love it!' Lily said with a big smile on her face.

James pulled her closer for a kiss, her lips felt softer than he had ever dreamed.

'You want to know why I chose lilies and sunflowers?' He asked.
'Because you're the most beautiful lily I have every seen, a lily as bright as the sun. And don't be scared someone will find out, this will be our secret.' James explained, looking into Lily's beautiful green eyes.

Lily kissed him one more time.

'I love you too James. You're the sweetest person I know, you do the sweetest things and I love this sweet little secret.'

And then James knew it. He would make sure he would be able to call Lily his wife in a few years, because without her gorgeous eyes, adorable smile and angelic voice, he wouldn't survive.
