James and Lily were standing in front of the wall with portraits. In Heaven you could see everything that happened in the world through them.
Their son was fighting against some Death Eathers, together with James and Lily's best friends.
Sirius was in a duel with Bellatrix, while Remus was making sure Harry and Neville were save. It was all very frightening.
'Come on, you can do better than that!' They heard Sirius say.
'Oh Sirius... don't be so reckless...' Whispered Lily.
But it was already to late... James saw a green light and his best friend fell through a doorway. He saw the expression on his sons face turn shocked and scared. James wished he could give Harry a big and comforting hug.
'Oh Harry...' He heard Lily murmur next to him. When he looked her in the eye he saw her eyes were watering. He grabbed her hand.
James turned around, at the other side of the room he saw a man appear on the ground.
Quickly he and Lily rushed towards him.
'Sirius!' James yelled. The man who had been laying on the ground now sat up and looked in the direction they came running from.
'James! Lily!' Sirius stood up very fast and gave them both a big hug.
But when he stepped back, Sirius seemed scared to look them in the eye and when he started talking Lily and James discovered why. 'Oh I'm so sorry... I was being reckless... I shouldn't have died... I was the only parent Harry had left... I'm so sorr-'
'Sirius! Stop! We're not mad at you or anything! Of course not, how could you think that? You didn't want to die! It's not like you "left" Harry on purpose!' Lily interrupted him.
James nodded, 'Yes, Lily is right! Sirius, don't be stupid, we are your best friends! Of course we aren't mad at you, there is no need to say sorry!'
Sirius, who had been looking at his shoes, now looked up. 'Okay, okay! I believe you, but still... I shouldn't have left Harry. Is there a way I can see how he and Remus are doing?'
Lily pointed across the room, 'Yes, you see those portraits over there? You can see what everyone on Earth is up to.'
Sirius started walking straight towards them and took a look at the portraits. 'Hm... Remus isn't in danger and Harry... also isn't! At least I didn't die for nothing!'
James laughed, 'I'm glad dying at 36 didn't make you some boring grandpa... Because Lily and I here are still 21, you see? We aren't waiting for an adult having a mid-life crisis.'
Sirius clapped James on the back. 'I could never be a boring grandpa!'
Lily laughed and even though James knew it was selfish to say, he was very happy to be reunited with his best friend again, he had missed Sirius.
