Have fun one last time

It was Harry's 17th birthday.

Molly had baked a beautiful cake and everyone had given him their presents.

But Harry didn't feel like celebrating something like his birthday.
He was stressed and couldn't think of anything exciting about becoming 17.

Of course he was off age now, that was great, but further than that there was nothing to celebrate.

Everyone at The Burrow was in great danger.

Because of Harry.

All of them were in danger: Hermione, Ron, Hagrid, Lupin, Tonks, Fred and George, Bill and Fleur, mrs and mr Delacour, mrs and mr Weasley.

Ginny.
Harry couldn't ignore it. All the people he loved were in danger.
He couldn't risk that they would die like his parents, Sirius, Hedwig and Alastor Moody did, trying to save his life.

Harry didn't think he would be able to ever forgive himself if anyone more would die for him.

He had to leave The Burrow.

Harry had been thinking about in for some days now.
He would leave The Burrow without telling Ron and Hermione and just Apparate somewhere far away.
He would leave a note saying they shouldn't search for him and then everyone would be save.

It all made sense.

So, after everyone gave Harry his presents, he said he had to use the loo, but instead he went outside.

But as he walked through the yard, someone grabbed his hand.
Behind him he heard Ginny's soft voice, 'Where are you going, Harry?'

'Nowhere Ginny...' He couldn't tell her, she would understand later.

But Ginny knew him to well, 'Harry... I know you want to leave. But, please, come back inside.'

It all seemed so easy, just going back inside, having some fun and act like nothing was going on.

But Harry couldn't go back inside, not when it meant everyone was in danger.
'Ginny, I love you. I love all of you. I just can't risk anyone else dying...'

Ginny nodded, but didn't let go of his hand.

'You want to know something, Harry? We all love you too and that's exactly the reason you will go back inside with me, celebrate your birthday and go to Fleur' and Bill's wedding. After that you can go. Go hunt You Know Who and do whatever you want. But please come back inside with me right now and have some fun, okay?'

Harry's eyes met Ginny's. Her beautiful brown eyes weren't filled with tears, but instead they told Harry he had to listen to her.
So Harry went back inside and had some fun.

He played games with Ron and Hermione, listened to jokes of Fred and George and danced with Ginny.

He was not as stressed as he had been.
It was a good evening, he enjoyed it.

And maybe it would be the last time he saw all these people he loved so much, but at least they made fun, even if it was the last time.
