Lovely weather

Neville was in a good mood after herbology. He had earned 20 points for Gryffindor by answering some questions.
While he was walking back to the castle it started to rain. The weather had been bad all day long.

As he hurried through the rain Neville was thinking about his friends. Harry, Hermione and Ron were of course good friends and he was also very close with Ginny.

And there was Luna, of course. People always seemed to think Luna was weird, but Neville really liked her. Maybe even loved her. It would be even more fun with Luna if he got to take classes with her, but that wasn't possible, of course, because she was a year below him.

Then Neville's daydreaming was disturbed by a sudden flash of thunder. He started to run, the rain was pouring now and he didn't feel like being cold for the rest of the day.

As he entered the school he suddenly realized something: Luna was still outside!
Just before herbology Neville had recognized her beautiful blonde hair as he saw her walking towards the lake, so he knew she was in the grounds.

He didn't like the idea of Luna being outside in the pouring rain while everyone else was inside.
Nothing dangerous could happen in the grounds as long as you stayed out of the forest of course, but Neville just didn't want Luna to be alone.

So he turned around and walked outside again, towards the lake.

Neville didn't know where Luna was, but he found her very fast. Just behind a big tree at the bank of the lake.

Her hair was completely soaked, but she didn't seem to bother. She was wearing her radish earrings again.

'Hi Luna!' Neville said, as he noticed she was sitting in a bit of a weird position.

She looked up and smiled as she recognized him, 'Oh, hi Neville! I'm sorry, I thought you were one of those bullies from Slytherin again.'

Neville hated these Slytherins, there was no reason to bully Luna, she maybe looked a bit different, but when you got to know her you would see she was actually very nice.

'Don't worry, I went looking for you when I saw you weren't in the Entrance Hall. Why are you outside in this weather?' He asked.

'That's very nice of you Neville. I wanted to get back to the castle, but my hair got stuck in this tree branch and I can't get it out.'

That was the reason she was sitting in this position, Neville realized. He stepped a little closer to Luna and started untangle her hair. Her hair felt very soft under his fingers and it smelled very nice, like lavender.

'I really like you, Neville. You're always so nice to me. I'm glad you came looking for me, I think I could have been stuck in here for hours if you wouldn't have found me.', Luna said and Neville's cheeks turned red. Luna had said she liked him and thought he was nice!

But the compliments had made Neville a bit shy and clumsy, and as he untangled Luna's hair he lost his balance.

He fell and accidentally grabbed her hand so that she fell right beside him on the muddy ground.

'Oh no, I'm so sorry Luna!!'

But Luna didn't seem to bother they were covered in mud, she laughed and said, 'Oh it's okay! My robes were already dirty anyways!'

Neville smiled, happy she wasn't mad, and stood up. He reached out his hand and helped her up.

'Thank you! Let's get back to the castle.' Luna said.

Neville nodded and they hurried of to the school, covered in mud and soaking wet.
When they were about to enter the building Luna stopped walking.

Neville looked up in confusion when Luna pressed her lips on his.

Neville couldn't believe it! Quickly he answered the kiss.

'I like you, Neville, I really really like you.' Luna whispered in his ear.

Neville kissed her once again and hoped that made clear he liked her too.
Luna's lips felt soft on his and Neville hoped the moment would last forever.

Even though they were completely wet, Neville felt like he was on fire and suddenly the weather seemed lovely.
