"Mrs Williams?" A young female voice calls to me from the now open door to our room

"Mrs Williams?" A young female voice calls to me from the now open door to our room. An ultrasound machine behind her.

"Come in Lila, You didnt have to knock." I smile as she pulls the machine into the room. Setting it up with all the cables beside my bed. Explain to us what she's going to be checking during the scan.

Once all the preliminaries have been checked off Lila squirts some gel onto my belly and press the wand down. Smoothing it across my bump in all angles.

"Does everything look okay?" I ask meekly. She taps the keys a few times taking pictures and making notes before she turns and smiles at me. "So far everything is looking fine for Baby number one. I just need to try and find the position to see baby number two. Either they are shy or they are playing hide and seek with me." I laugh at the playfulness in her voice. Looking away from the screen I focus on Bryan. "Do you think you can get Nugget to play ball?"

With a kiss on my cheek, Bryan moves down my body until his face is in line with my lower back. He tales a moment to get into a comfortable position before pressing his face forward and tapping my swollen skin. Sending little vibrations into my growing stomach. Within seconds I can already feel that he has caught the attention of Nugget our second blessing. The swirling motion sensation slows for a moment when Bryan starts to talk. It's like Nugget freezes for a second before his brain and body can connect, but when it does baby flings across my back from the left to the right. Chasing the sound of their daddy's voice. Needing to be pressed up against him in any way possible.

The skin of my back/side stretches thin with the shape of Nugget treating us all to the indentations of a small spine and hands. My heart swells with love and adoration.

"Keep doing that Mr Williams. I'm able to do the checks when the baby is in that position."

"Can you wiggle your fingers and toes for me, baby?" he whispers against my skin. His breath is warm as it touches my exposed back. Seconds later I can feel the wiggles as the baby tries to follow what their daddy had asked. Watching their interaction is a memory in time I am going to hold onto forever.

With the ultrasound finished and all the results checked and ready for us Nurse Lila explains everything that she looked for and checked. She explained that everything was fine, the babies are both doing okay, and they are the right weights and size - which puts me a little more at ease.

"But what caused the bleeding? Have I been doing too much? Did I put our babies at risk?" I ask Nurse Lila, my lip trembling with worry. She gives me a warm smile as she reaches out to clasp my hand.

"Sky, you haven't done anything wrong. You've been doing everything right. Things like this are more likely to happen when the mother carries more than one baby. Bedrest is needed to help the mother and the babies. Trust me, you have nothing to feel guilty about."

Tears fall down my face as I inhale relief into my body, pushing out the guilt I had been feeling. I don't want to put our family in danger and if bedrest is what I need to do to ensure we are all safe then that's what I will do.
