Routine.

Was Izuku brave enough to break routine?

"Hey hun, are you awake?" Hisashi's voice was soft, gentle, and hesitant. Just as it always was after a fight. Izuku hesitantly raised his head from where he was curled up on his bed. He hadn't slept, only keeping the music blaring in his ears to drown out his own cries and the sound of his parent's fight that had continued on until midnight.

They had fought again. The fight from last week only put everything on edge, and Hisashi and Inko were left fighting almost every night.

But last night had been worse, Inko had said something about Izuku... again. And Hisashi lost it almost instantly, Izuku knew that his father was tired, and that's why he lashed out so quickly, but it still scared him. And he ran to his room where he cried and hid away throughout the entire night, even when the sounds of his parents yelling died out.

"I'm awake dad..." Izuku's voice was hoarse, he felt his throat crying out in pain as he spoke, while his stomach ached in hunger. Dinner had been long forgotten last night.

The door to his room slowly opened, Hisashi careful as he stepped inside. Though the second the Alpha saw his son's tired eyes, his tear-stained face, and the scratch marks on his arms and legs from where the boy had no doubt been clawing himself to gain a sense of grounding. His heart broke.

"Oh, Izuku..." Hisashi spoke softly, his heart breaking at the sight. Izuku merely looked up at his father and slowly left his bed, walking forward to his father where Hisashi opened his arms and took Izuku into a protective hug. Izuku sniffled softly as he hugged his father, though regardless, the smokey scent of his father did nothing if not relax him.

"Hey button flower, are you excited for today? It's a very special occasion?" Hisashi questioned softly as he stroked his son's hair, only for Izuku to look up at his father questioningly.

"It is? But it's only Saturday? It's not a holiday, is it?" Izuku asked curiously, though Hisashi held himself back from shouting in surprise, not wanting to startle his son. So, he kneeled in front of Izuku and gently rubbed his cheek.

"It's July 15th Izuku." Hisashi smiled, hoping the dots would connect, though Izuku only shrugged and looked at his father expectantly, leaving Hisashi slightly shocked and saddened.

"Today is your birthday today Izuku." Hisashi smiled sadly while Izuku was shocked for a moment before looking down at his feet embarrassedly.

"Let's do something fun, okay?" Hisashi grinned while Izuku smiled and nodded.

"I'll get breakfast ready, go get cleaned up, we both fell asleep in our clothes from yesterday." Hisashi laughed as he gestured to the both of them, Izuku still in his school uniform while Hisashi was still wearing his scrubs.

Izuku headed to his bathroom while Hisashi left the boy's room, the Omega cleaned himself up quickly, throwing on a T-shirt and some shorts, once again letting his hair air dry as he walked into the kitchen, finding his father in a similar state as himself, casual clothes had obviously thrown on quickly, seeing as Izuku noticed his father's shirt was on backward. While his pitch-black hair stuck to his forehead, flattened by the water from his shower.

Izuku laughed at his father's hair, the man normally having it styled professionally. Hisashi noticed his son and laughed at Izuku's own hair, the man gently moved Izuku's flattened hair away from his eyes, chuckling at the length of the mop of green locks.

"I think you might be due for a haircut Izuku." Hisashi chuckled while Izuku giggled as he tucked some of his hair behind his ear before grabbing the plates from the cupboard and setting them on the table while Hisashi prepared the Miso soup, the mixed rice, and the natto.
