"You're a failure."
Smack.
"No one wants you."
Smack.
"He's never coming for you."
Kick.
"You were born alone and you're going to die alone."
He pulled my head back and looked into my eyes. I wouldn't look away. He'll see that I'm stronger than any other woman out there. I'm not going to give him the satisfaction of seeing me suffer. I'm sure Asher is on his way. He loves me. He wouldn't dare leave me when I needed him most.
"Everything you do from now on, won't matter to me. Asher doesn't want you. He will never want you again. You make him sick and I'm sure he's happy you're gone."
"You're only saying that, because no one loves you," I spat.
"Everyone loves me."
"Except you. You don't love you and you want me to feel the same way about myself. I won't let you break me down like that."
"...You look smart until you open your mouth."
"And you think you're attractive when you really look like the bottom of your shoes."
That earned me a blow to the gut and a trip across the room. Well, this is about as much as I can handle for the time being. If he does anything more, I just might lose consciousness. It was fun playing with him, but I said what I said. He isn't all that good looking. Stupid bastard.
"Do you ever think before you speak?" he snapped.
"I do, but you're not a threat to me, so I sort of lose the ability to think rationally." I smirked.
"...You're a complete idiot."
"And you're hard to look at!"
Aaron looked like he wanted to stomp over to me and hit me again, but seemed to change his mind. I wasn't about to let that happen anyway. I'm far away enough to get up and run. I'm not taking another beating today.
"Everything that's happened so far is all your fault. I can't wait until I can get rid of you."
"...Whatever."
I can't wait until he gets rid of me either. I'm sure it's only been a couple of days, but I can't be too sure. He's been coming into the room at odd times. For all I know, he could have them bringing me a meal at the wrong time. He is pretty mean. I'm sure he'd do that for the fun of it.
"You're not getting anything to eat from now on. If they do give you anything, it's going to be table scraps."
"I'm not a dog."
"...I never said you were, but since you brought it up..."
"Are you gonna leave or not? I'm sick of hearing your voice."
Aaron glared at me before leaving the room. I sighed in relief and squeezed out a few tears. I hate him so much. I can't take the beatings anymore. The more I try to convince myself I'm strong enough to wait this out, the harder it is to believe it. I've never doubted Asher's abilities before, but now I'm thinking he isn't all that as a leader.
Men are so insensitive these days. They always complain about us women and how we don't do enough. We do as much as we can without complaining. We fought for equal rights and got shamed for everything we do. Why? Because men are afraid to admit they're the problem. They don't want to look weak when being weak is part of being human. Being a woman has nothing to do with being weak.
