Shrek's parents set him down slowly into his lightning McQueen bed. They kiss him goodnight and close the door as they leave. Shrek closes his eyes and breathes. He knew what he was going to do tomorrow for his 3rd birthday.
Dawn's light shined through his window, covering the room in a slight yellow-pale pink glow. Shrek stretched and got out of bed. He put on his dora crocs first, then his signature clothes. He grabs his blankets and tie them together and throws them out the window. Shrek grabs it and tries to slowly climb down the white cloth ladder. Shrek, however, forgot to tie the blanket ladder to something, and he crashes down onto the dewy crabgrass. Shrek wanted to let out a shriek but he knows he can't. He digs deep into his pocket and pulls out his mom's velvet wallet. He looks inside to see the beautiful $300 still in there. He smirks and begins to walk from his house in the swamp to the city.
